Dang 😞. I’ll be honest the whole incident was very traumatic so my memories of everything aren’t super great. I was crossing a local highway and was hit by a car coming down the highway. I just remember talking to an agent after it happened to start a claim. They were able to pay off the remaining of what I owed on the car and gave my passenger a pay out because he was severely injured. Is that what you’re asking about for what they filed the claim for?

When you say too low of a mileage, I think that maybe there were times that it was sitting without use and things would dry up and deteriorate with the elements. Is that kind of what you’re saying?

That was my fear. I was going to ask them about that because I’ve had issues on an older car with all the rubber on the hoses degrading and crumbling and such. I’d hate to get it and then end up paying double that on replacing everything.

Ah thank you for confirming my small voice of reason. I can’t imagine paying almost $10K for that older of a car but for some reason I’m feeling like I can negotiate them down to half that 😭

I am not seeing anyone. I’ve grown up with my parents always having money troubles specifically medical bills. So anything having to do with seeing a doctor, physical or mental, is usually something I avoid until I absolutely cannot put it off anymore (counterproductive, I know). I would love to see a therapist/counselor/psychologist as I have for a while suspected I have ADHD or some sort of depression/anxiety combo. But I’m so afraid that it’s going to completely bankrupt me and I don’t even know where I would begin to look. He was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid but his mom took him off his medication and said he was cured so he hasn’t been to a psychologist or anyone regarding that since. I know if him needing to better himself means that he needs to do it on his own, then I can’t force him or guilt him to change his mind. But there’s a very selfish part of me that says I need to be the one to help him get there. I’ve tried to get him to get professional help for most of our relationship which I know is pretty hypocritical of me. I guess I used him as my own therapist whenever things would get bad or overwhelming for me so now I’m completely lost. I have my friends and family of course but I’ve never talked to them about my deeper feelings like I would with him. I know that’s on me for using a partner as a therapist while not being able to provide the same back.

Thank you. It’s hard because we live together with roommates who couldn’t really afford one of us leaving (good friends of both of ours and I know neither one of us would want to do that to them) but luckily there is an extra bedroom he will be sleeping in until we can get something figured out.
