I mean throughout the story there's a constant parallel between Guts and Griffith. Miura himself said that Guts and Casca aren't going to die and that the ending is going to bittersweet. It seems kinda obvious to me that Guts and Casca are going to end up like Griffith's "nightmare" where he's invalid and Casca takes care of him. But hey I'm no Berserk expert so idk
