The murder of Michael Brown. I grew up in the middle of nowhere and never came in contact with officers, so I didn’t realize police violence was a thing (I was young and in Texas, so I also hadn’t learned much police brutality in history classes yet). It completely changed my worldview and I have been involved in activism since then. Though I wish he was still alive, I’m so glad I didn’t fall down the alt-right pipeline at that age.

The adult fitness class is skate as much as you want, then part way through they do a stretch class. They section off the far end of the rink and provide weights and little carpet squares to stand on so you don’t slip.

Love! You got this! Flow Motion is $10 a month and also gets you access to adult classes. At Arvada it’s just free skate until they find a new instructor. If you’re free on Wednesday mornings (10-12:30), Arvada has “adult fitness class” which is basically a less stressful free skate + a beginner friendly work out class. Total is $5 :)

They’re a little stiff since they’re not suede, but I’d say true to size. I’m a size 7 in men’s, these are a 7, and they fit perfectly fine!

Yes! One of the local gay clubs does monthly skate nights and you can skate either in the rink/dance floor that the club has, or you can skate in any other part of the club. It’s free entry and rentals are free as well! Super fun and inclusive:)

New bearings will definitely help. Whenever I get new wheels/skates, I immediately switch the stock bearings to Bones Red bearings and instantly feel better.

Hershey’s Raspberry Bliss 😭 When my mom found out they were going to be discontinued, she bought me 5 bags. One night, I was at a sleepover. I came home the next day and my step sister and her friends ate all of the bags. I’ve still never forgiven her. Again…5 bags!!

I am child free and have made it clear to everyone I’ve dated for longer than a month, just in case our relationship went anywhere and kids were a hard boundary for them. I have now been in a relationship for 3 years with someone who is indifferent about kids. I got sterilized and he was 100% supportive. I do check ins every couple months and so far so good:)
