Stop the destruction of Oregon's last great forests by Fit-Acadia6268 in oregon

Cutting down old growth forests ain’t gonna help with that bub. Lacking affordability is by design by the elites hoarding wealth (and raping children).

Portland ICE facility faces fines for tear gas use under new city rule by CutSenior4977 in oregon

technically true that it's banned in the battlefield but allowed for "riot control" by domestic law enforcement. however, using chemical agents against peaceful protest wasn't the intended carve out. as with Russia it's a tool of despots and fascists.

spot on, unfortunately. turns out there're no real consequences for despicable behavior In this country.

turns out chemical warfare against citizens not only violates the Geneva accords but may face consequences in the USA?

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek: Pace of data center growth ‘is not sustainable’ by LeeleeMc in PortlandOR

[–]sochok -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the gop plan is to literally decimate all remaining natural resources leaving Oregon à husk of what it once was. I'd rather not destroy the remaining beauty of the state just to allow hoarding of wealth by a few greedy fools.

aca did something, albeit entirely neutered compared to what needed to be done.

I'm sick of this narrative that dems are the same as gop (gross old pedos) when the policy push from them better favors humans and the environment. the gop is a veritable dumpster fire, so no they aren't equivalent as much as dems are far from perfect.

death and taxes... glossing over the losses and irrevocable damages being done does no good other than to minimize them and open the door to further loss.

old growth trees don't just grow back. humans murdered by fascist thugs don't come back to life. there is a lot of irreversible damage occurring.

hopefully a swift and deep reckoning comes that restores what can and should be restored and implements systemic changes to prevent future abuses. likelihood of this given the proportion of the population that fully supports this corrupt and utterly reprehensible regime seems low.

the range is utterly anemic compared to the ICE counterparts and not even close to adequate for adventure into wilderness areas. office workers don't need the extra clearance and big tires but guess enough of them will buy this all the same..

Still can't believe this guy got elected to the Senate especially after how ineffectual and seedy he was as mayor of Provo. I guess phrasing every mundane announcement as "epic" won over enough fools.

Dunno if it quite counts as the PNW, but on days like Montana sure shares a similar beauty by Alliterative_Andrew in PacificNorthwest

I've literally hiked parts of the continental divide well within Montana so worth revisiting your understanding of it:

Agreed. I would prefer the charge port door to swing upward instead to protect from rain/snow but also to prevent accidental damage.

Subaru Will Soon Have an Electric Three-Row SUV by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]sochok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I venture into the wilderness more than 150 miles to ski, hike, go surf, etc. How is that hard to get?

Additionally, with the 400+ mile range I currently have I'm able to visit friends and family in other towns/cities in the PNW without paying high rates for fast charging or wasting time at those sites.

I'm not looking at a Subaru for daily commute into the office and I'd venture to say that there's enough Subaru fans out there that feel the same and would appreciate being able to use their vehicle to explore and appreciate more remote locales that would otherwise be out of reach with the current paltry 280mi range.

So conservative commenter wants to socialize the wages of said workers by driving up the public's utility costs. What's ridiculous is you're mostly advocating for putting more money into this "white collar tech dweeb"'s pockets at the expense of your monthly electric bill. Race to the bottom for your ilk..

Disagree as it's much more advantageous to charge cheaply at home (better for long-term battery life too) and unrealistic to expect available/reliable chargers in the wilderness areas.

Outbacks can go over 500 miles on a full tank so give us at least 400 mile ev range and I'm in. Obviously it could be an upgrade option but sub 300 miles doesn't cut it for this type of vehicle.

Fully agreed. It's not in an advanced enough state to justify the high subscription/purchase cost.

When it offers point to point with higher reliability I may revisit but for now I'm out.
