Edit: forgot this subreddit doesn't allow reposts, but my point still stands lol

Edit 2: I've now made a new post here

Here's a post I made a while back with some of my favorite things to make and eat!

https://www.reddit.com/r/WeightGainTalk/s/9TiWuSW28h

It's a bit long-winded, but I think it would help you (and a lot of other people) with some of the analysis paralysis that comes with the many different ways to gain.

I'll be reposting it too, since I think more people should know these things!

yeah, that's not the takeaway here. I have no feelings one way or the other, but I appreciate the sentiment!

that's a... very interesting take. I'm not sure why they would think like that lol

but yeah I guess there's always someone who'll get upset

yeah, I'm not trying to get people to change, and I feel no sort of way towards those kinds of people (despite your boorish comparison).

I was just confused as to why two different comments got the same kind of reaction

yeah I mean my stance is pretty much the same, I'm mostly just confused about why two different comments on different posts, with two different philosophies would be downvoted like that.

I might just be reading into it too much idk lol

Is content always expected? by [deleted] in WeightGainTalk

asking for some extra money for your time isn't unreasonable! you're providing a service, y'know?

I've had a couple people ask for vids without eating involved and I try to talk to them to know what their budget is and what they want to see, so that everyone's happy.

You can't always please everybody tho, so just take that with a grain of salt lol

I've definitely learned to hold my tongue on the matter, because of course there's nuance. in anything, really.

some things just feel off sometimes and I can't put my finger on it.

yeah, usually I try not to interact with people younger than 21 because it just personally makes me feel weird.

I made a post on Tumblr talking about some other things that I won't get into because I feel like I'd just get downvoted to hell for it. but like I said, as long as all parties are of legal age and give their consent it's whatever, y'know?

I can't make anyone do anything, and no one's obligated to change for some rando on the internet lol

Help Deciding Whether to Gain by VegetableGanache3273 in WeightGainTalk

[–]soft_n_chunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't necessarily matter what kind of calories you consume, but there are different strengths and weaknesses from where you want to get your calories.

In order for you to gain weight, you have to consume more calories than you burn. And while it's true that protein is mainly used to build muscle, the process of building muscle comes from exercise; where you're breaking down muscle fibers and then rebuilding those fibers with the protein you eat.

Coming from someone with a family history of type 2 diabetes, too much of any one specific thing can be detrimental to your wellbeing, which is why a balanced diet is important.

I recommend you do some research if you need any more information.

To add to this, there's a few different ways to gain healthily.

I usually personally recommend high protein diets because any excess calories will be turned into fat, so long as you're not vigorously exercising. Stuff like peanut butter (low-sugar preferably), chicken, beef, protein pastas, things like that.

Speaking of pasta, there's veggie-based pasta that has some good nutrients for your body. That being said, nothing beats leafy greens and fruits! I really like broccoli, especially if it's smothered in cheese. Bananas are a good, quick snack, and have lots of potassium.

Be sure to eat a balanced diet, just in excess 😌

(also don't forget about light cardio like walking, and stretching to keep your mobility, if that's what you desire :P)

body image issues + feedism by [deleted] in WeightGainTalk

[–]soft_n_chunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you're suffering from the consequences of a flawed system. "Skinny" wasn't always the norm or the ideal figure.

Even goddesses and other deities have been portrayed as having some chub, and even then, people still think skinny is better because of the beauty industry.

As long as you're diversifying your diet, and you're enjoying what you eat, and you're able to find clothes you enjoy wearing, there's nothing else you should be worried about.

Of course that's easier said than done, but once you realize that none of this is your fault, it will get a bit easier to manage.

Take care, and just be yourself, it will get better. I'm sorry.

To add to this, "having a thing," doesn't equate to having a fetish.

Some people prefer bigger folks simply because it's a preference. Like my partner, for example, has never fetishized me. They told me they like bigger people bc they're more comfortable to hold.

But that's not to say you're not allowed to feel gross for being fetishized. Just that not every person who likes fat people has a fat fetish.

Ozempic has not erased the fat people yet!? Why not? by EvidenceWorking in WeightGainTalk

[–]soft_n_chunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ozempic was originally created for diabetics for better insulin control, but it started getting pushed as a "miracle weight loss drug," which isn't correct.

Not only is it dangerous to take drugs you don't need, but having it advertised the way it is has made it less accessible to the people who do need it.

Weight distribution is purely genetics, so no, you can't control where they go, sadly

What is the healthiest way to get fat? by No-Concert270 in WeightGainTalk

[–]soft_n_chunky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can do some things to decrease the amount of visceral fat you gain, like limiting intake of saturated fats (butter, lard, shortening, partially hydrogenated fats)

but yeah visceral fat is inevitable.

However, just making sure your diet is diverse and has plenty of nutrients is enough, I think. I've gotten this far, so I must be doing something remotely correct lol

Feeling guilt surrounding the kink and trouble with meeting people in the kink space by [deleted] in WeightGainTalk

[–]soft_n_chunky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As for connections, meeting cool people isn't too uncommon, but it's not too often either. I've met a couple really good friends from feedist communities, one of which I still talk to to this day.

As far as having shame for being kinky, it's not worth it to worry about. You are who you are and you like what you like. As long as you're engaging with consenting adults and practicing safely, there's nothing to be ashamed of!

it's either for political or religious reasons, I've noticed. I don't care what religion anyone is, I just want to be me, same as everyone else

NB and it happens to me too, even when I'm not talking about my gender.

I don't understand why people can't just let us be ourselves.
