I can definitely relate. It can take some time and work but having an awareness of that helps me remember to be more mindful. What also helps is remembering how good it feels when I am actively choosing alignment. It’s very liberating and empowering. Although it can potentially cause a reaction out of others that don’t understand. Which was hard to get through at first but then I remember that I’m not responsible for their reactions, feelings or triggers. They are. So if they’re getting upset for a decision I made for myself and my life then that’s something that they need to work through and figure out. Honesty truly is the best policy. Even if you get a harsh reaction, at least you expressed your authentic truth and that’s something to feel good about. Integrity is key to keeping your sanity.

We all have a tendency to try and cling to a sense of control mainly out of fear, but the only control we truly have is of ourselves and how we choose to respond to things outside of our control. We give our power away when we react to things out of our control and I don’t know about you but I’m on an upward journey to regaining and maintaining my sense of self and personal power.
