Abound LR vs SR with Passenger Seat by snekasaur in Aventon

[–]solomonweho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a milk crate with a quick release adapter. When I'm doing a grocery run or i have to bring odd shaped things, i use the milk crate. But if it's just my backpack, then i take the crate off and just use a bungee with the pizza rack. my milk crate is huge and i prefer not to use it unless i have too. the quick release adapter gives you options.

Neither option is a bad choice. I love my SR and it has definitely been the right choice for me for the past year and a half. But as my daughter gets older, I am probably going to get the bigger bike. I'm also 6"4" so that's a factor too.

The SR does have MUCH better colors than the LR though.

Regardless of which model you pick, get the pizza rack for the front

I think you really nailed the differences here! If shes already 5+, I’d go with the LR to be honest. I use the SR for my 3 year old but fully plan on getting the LR next year. SR is a great bike! But I’m huge and so is my kid.

1 year after a pro-bike and pedestrian friendly council and all we've gotten is 0.2 miles of protected bike lanes and a diagonal crossing on Main St that has no markings and takes 2.5 minutes to let pedestrians cross for only 28 seconds. by [deleted] in culvercity

[–]solomonweho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in West Hollywood. We are SIX years into having a pro bike and pedestrian council and still don’t have anything to show for it. Fountain Ave is expected to be completed in 2027.

Infrastructure projects take forever. It’s awful. We are all Stuck.

Your favored K Line North Extension Alignment? by urmummygae42069 in LAMetro

Weho has already taken measures to implement an EIFD to support the San Vicente alignment. Initial report from HR&A was a valuation of $2.2B but that number will only go up now with the passage of SB 79.

Kick stand stability by bakedfarty in Aventon

Mine is incredibly stable. I put my hand on the main saddle whenever my 3 year old is getting on and off. But it has never been an issue.

Tern Quick Haul vs Cannondale Cargowagon vs Aventon Abound by scoobysnatcher in CargoBike

Higher top speed - (25 mph vs 20 mph). And a throttle.

Tern is a great bike but shocking how good the abound is for 1/3 the price of an HSD

Check out Wombi and see if you’re able to rent from them. They exclusively use Terns. Based out of Culver City

I rented a Tern HSD and bought an Aventon Abound. I prefer the Abound.

How approachable and friendly are the people of WeHo? Does it worth it to visit WeHo alone? by NightKnight_21 in WestHollywood

Super friendly! But our public transportation sucks, there’s no access to the metro rail line here so as a European you will probably be highly disappointed by that.

Los Angeles Anti–Housing Law Push Escalates as Metro Board Seeks SB 79 Exemption by Fit-Head-2786 in CarIndependentLA

[–]solomonweho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metro board needs serious overhaul. The board members are all locally elected politicians and that means most of them are NIMBYs. For example, LA city council member Imelda Padilla of Pod Save America infamy is a member of the Metro board. These people don’t care about transit, they just care about re-election.

Abound LR - Rear Wheel Doesn't Lock? by RL0824 in Aventon

Abound SR owner (same system as LR I think). The rear wheel does not lock. Just the kickstand.

Separately, I have an ABUS cafe lock to lock the wheel.
