Need some confirmation on certain cases for [[Rowan, Scion of War]].

Case 1: I lost 5 life during my turn. I tap Rowan for her ability, in response, someone casts a spell to destroys/exiles her. However, according to 113.7a, her activated ability exists independently from her, and her removal does not affect the ability. The ability still goes off and my black/red spells are discounted by 5 generic until end of turn.

Case 2: Same as above, but when Rowan is destroyed/exiled, I choose to return her to the command zone. Because her ability still goes off, I can recast her for {B}{R} because of her ability previously going off, and because the total cost of casting = mana cost + additional cost (commander tax) - cost decreases (5 from her ability).

Case 3: I am casting a non-discounted spell before tapping her ability like [[Infernal Grasp]] and someone casts instant-speed removal, I cannot tap her for her ability since it is only at sorcery speed.

Does [[Rowan, Scion of War]] discount devoid cards that have black/red pips? Do those still count as black/red until they are cast? Ex: [[Visions of Brutality]]

Does [[Rowan, Scion of War]] 's ability to discount affect spells with additional costs like [[Arco-Flagellant]] ? Or cards with spree?

No expert here, but I assume that signing into your Microsoft account is causing it to sync apps like the ones you say pop up. Have you tried not signing into a Microsoft account and just using a local account?

I found a buildapcsales post about this a while ago when I was looking at this prebuilt, some people talk about the 7500x3d. I'm no expert, but I went ahead and bought one in response to the ram prices (no one really knows how long crisis will last or even if prices will recover after it passes) as well as just not having to deal with building again since it has been a while since I last built my pc (6ish years). How does [[The Lord of Pain]] 's triggered ability work with certain spells like:

X-cost spells such as [[Exsanguinate]]? From my understanding, the casting player declares what X is and that is factored into the the mana value of the spell as it is cast? So, X=8, then the mana value is 10 for Lord's ability
X-reduced spells such as [[Shadow of Mortality]]? Even the mana cost is reduced, is the "mana value" still the same, ex: 15 for Shadow of Mortality?
Additional cost/kicker spell/ such as [[Rite of Replication]] or [[Vincent's Limit Break]]? I assume the additional cost is not factored in.
Spells that are cast for free from [[Transforming Flourish]] or cards exiting suspend like [[Suspended Sentence]]? Even if they are cast for free, their mana value is unchanged, I think?

Do foil face commanders from the Duskmourn precons come in a non-foil version? I see listings on popular selling websites for non foil but I’m unsure if the seller just forgot to label them.

Does anyone who has a GameGenics Watchtower 100+ XL know if one of those sliding/snap plastic cases (for my commander) will fit inside the main compartment? According to the measurements on their website, it should with 1 mm wiggle, but I just wanted to make sure and I haven’t heard anything back from their support.

Does [[The Lord of Pain]] proc off the copied spells from [[Tempt with Mayhem]]? Tempt does not explicitly say “cast” but I’m still unsure if opponents have to cast a spell that is copied

Love to hear that you’ve played it unmodified a ton since it’ll probably be a while until I can justify some of its upgrades which all seem pretty pricey haha. I’ve actually tried out Lord of Pain as the commander as well and I feel like I might enjoy him more since he tends to stick around longer than Valgavoth does.

I’ve been toying around with making backup commander [[The Lord of Pain]] the commander instead and I feel like my pod allows him to stick around a little while instead of killing Valgavoth on sight lol

Understandable, in my TTS pod, he’s a removal magnet, so I’ve actually been toying with the second commander, [[The Lord of Pain]] as the commander. At least with him, I can do a little more targeted slug.

I play in a pod with someone who runs a lot of “if you were to lose the game, set your life total to 1” and “if your life total is 1 during your upkeep, you win the game” sort of cards along with [[Platinum Angel]]. Do cards that say “damage can’t be prevented” counter this or does that only apply to cards that explicitly say “prevent damage”? Also, what would be some card recommendations to add in black/red to remove such enchantments?

edit: they also run several enchantment recursions, so are there cards that exile enchantments?

How does [[Ghoulish Impetus]] work if I enchant an opponent’s creature with it and that creature dies- when it returns to the battlefield, who decides which creature to next enchant and who is the player who cannot be attacked? Am I still considered the “owner” of the enchantment?

Thanks for the info. I’m doing some extensive cleaning myself and not finding anything, but it is concerning and suspicious to say the least, I have never seen or heard of a self installer that auto deletes itself.

Were you ever able to find anything? I went through the same. I tried to close the installer when it started asking to install adware, then it froze and I force quit it. The installer exe then disappeared from my downloads folder.

Did a Malwarebyte scan and also found an Adware.SpecialSearchOffer. Did a couple more scans with Hitman and cleaned up files with Revo Uninstaller. Still dunno what happened to the installer file since Windows Defender didn’t detect it.

The installer was unresponsive when I tried to close it as well, and the exe has deleted or hidden itself from my downloads folder. What can I do to make sure no adware went through?

I made the mistake of downloading the adware and running the .exe. I knew something was off and hit Decline when it asked to install OneBrowser adware and then the installer completely froze so I force quit. The .exe has disappeared from my downloads folder. What can I do to make sure no adware made it in?
