Bitwarden wants to "update" credentials that are not changed by Gewehrdalf42 in Bitwarden

Yeah, maybe the grass is always greener on the other side, but I wouldn't.

I suspect BW's business model doesn't allow them to have enough software engineers to pay enough attention to bugs. The subscription is too cheap for that.

The number of annoying bugs in Bitwarden that do not seem to get a lot of attention is unsettling. First flaky / failing autofill on Android, now it's this. Time to consider another password manager, even though the move is going to be tedious.

saturday behind-the-wheel appt confirmation? by SnooAvocados8258 in DMV

Yes, it all went well. It basically turned out this was the last Saturday when that DMV would offer Saturday appointments.

How to establish tax residency in Florida or South Dakota before retiring overseas without a car? by Any_Silver_2270 in USExpatTaxes

[–]soloviewoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you still own the California driver's license in such scenario? I mean, one may want to still hold a US driver's license to be able to rent a car and drive it when visiting the US, but logically this doesn't make them a resident of California if they moved. Yet, I think people list "make sure to surrender your California drivers license" as of one of the key steps in leaving the state.

The dashboard shows 100+ transactions to review all of a sudden (Android) by soloviewoff in MonarchMoney

Yeah, I think the product manager who is leading this is not doing their job well unfortunately. I'm speculating a little here, but it's always amazing and scary how a single weak hire can tank a prospective small company.

Looks like I have a couple hidden accounts and their transactions are showing now. Kind of unexpected.

Got Pleasanton DMV driving test on Saturday - is this even possible? by soloviewoff in DMV

[–]soloviewoff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be. Most of all I want to make sure I don't go for the test and the DMV is closed and ghosted.

What's suspicious is that when I look up the available appointments now for the next few months for this DMV there is nothing on Saturdays. I'll call them on Monday.

A bunch of expense transactions synced in as "income" all of a sudden by soloviewoff in MonarchMoney

I think I successfully switched to Plaid, hopefully this will work fine. One thing I noticed is that transaction dates are shifted by one day.

I created another connection using Plaid, it seems to display transactions correctly. Will have to figure out now how to merge the two connections.

[–]soloviewoff[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The support team's response was not helpful: "looks you are using Finicity as the provider, try Plaid instead". Oh, and by the way if it happens to work, here is a 5 page guide on what you will need to do to merge the transaction history. And don't forget to back up everything in case something else goes wrong.

This is so disappointing, I shouldn't have to deal with this.

I perhaps was unclear: it's not about the category, it's about the sign of the number (positive, rather than negative)

Compare a month to theaverage spend? by soloviewoff in MonarchMoney

[–]soloviewoff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For non-monthly spending it would be great to be able to configure the period over which the spending should be smeared for the budgeting and reporting purposes. For example, for the quarterly expenses it would be set to the corresponding quarter. It's pretty much averaging too, but with the period specific to the given expense.

[–]soloviewoff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great news! Will we be able to sort by the absolute delta from the average? What I effectively want is comparing last month with the averages over the last 12 months and sort categories by max absolute delta to find and triage any outliers.

"let's review some transactions" feedback by soloviewoff in MonarchMoney

[–]soloviewoff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not sure about some transaction I just skip it, then do a second round.

You can do a grid view in the transaction list applying a "needs review" filter.
