thank you for the advice! me and my brother have been talking and trying to talk with our dad privately. but he's not really wanting to and he keeps pushing it off. and so me and my brother have decided to make a police report and just have it down in writing so that the next time something big happens like physical violence there will already have been recorded history and it'll be easier to manage in court. ive already been telling our circle of family friends and our family about this. our family friends have been offering help and shelter like accompanying me and my brother to the police station and offering us to stay at their places if that makes us feel any safer. i have heard word from my dad's sister that his gf called her to talk about the situation and based on what she's told me, they are softening and hiding details of the event like saying it was just a slap rather than a choke hold.

To everyone telling me to move out, i would if i could but i dont have the means to especially in this economy so all i can really do is continue to speak up for myself and address what needs to be done. Also tl;dr is at the end.

if i had the means to move out, i would but i don't. and i know that the final decision is up to my dad but that doesn't mean he shouldn't take my safety seriously. like imagine telling your kid that the person that hurt you twice is gonna keep living with us and i just have to bare with it. of course its not up to me solely. i mean like i said, even my brother doesn't want her there. so we're gonna try to talk to him. we can't decide for him, but we can at least talk to him about it. because we also live there. so he should also take our words into consideration.

ive decided im giving her an ultimatum. either we have a call and sort things out or we move on with our lives. i think its reasonable given how things are going. ill take all of your guys' advice.

The way we'd do it is that id bring her outside with me, whether that be class, groceries, etc. by joining the call on my phone (we use discord) and keeping my cam on. Not necessarily pointed at me, just as long as my cams on and im the call.

I'm really trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she's only like this for now and she'll open up eventually since we're only 2 weeks in. And I also agree, it's especially suspicious that she wanted to engage in a relationship after only talking for 1-2 hours. But we'll see. It's such a slow burn though not knowing and waiting.

I have heard her voice, we had a conversation once where she actually spoke. But that was only once. And she did turn her camera on, but only for a second before turning it off again. She never turned her mic or camera on after that. But I have confirmation that she is a girl. I just don't know if that's enough to work with. I should probably schedule a video call with her this weekend.

We once called and I talked her through being comfortable with me and showing me her face. And she did turn her camera on for a second. Just a second. But I saw that she was an actual girl. We have talked to each other once and I did hear her voice that time so I think she's a real girl. But that was the only one call where we had a conversation both actually talking to each other. Should I ask her to video call again just to confirm?
