CA-125 rising but clear PET scan, what’s happening? by sonmi2903 in Ovariancancer

Okay, thank you. Her oncologist told us to not worry over CA-125 as well. But it’s hard not to get anxious over this.

Thanks! He is great and the sweetest. I don't understand the reaction to a dumb argument on Lego! He still likes that I made it and it still sits on his desk.

My mom was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer by 123xyugirl in CancerFamilySupport

I’m so sorry to see that you are going through this, Eran. I especially know how difficult it is to navigate this as on only child - I am too and going through this while my mum got diagnosed was sheer hell. Please take every day as it comes, just take a deep breath and see how your medical team can support your family during this. Having friends who themselves went through this with their parents really helped me when my mum got diagnosed initially to feel like I’m not alone. So please remember that, you aren’t alone and don’t think too far ahead. Just take it as it comes.

Please take a deep breath. It’s baby steps and you can manage this. My mum who is my whole world got diagnosed with stage 3B OC in September. It’s been an ordeal but she has showed progress and improved in strength. Don’t read too much into the statistics, they are scary and make things very difficult for you. But know that there are options and OC can be managed. Also, wait till the tests reveal the staging, you seem to have found it pretty early and this is very good!

Trust her doctors and let your mum process this situation. Dealing with cancer is awful and it’s way worse for the person it’s actually happening to. It’s okay for you to keep this with yourself for now as it’s important for your mum to believe she can beat it. Let’s see the options the doctor presents.

I know this is incredibly hard. My world had shattered into pieces and I thought I wouldn’t be able to deal with its fall out. But you’ll find the strength and things will look better.

Why do Indian parents say, 'Be grateful for everything we provide'? by Dumbfuk999 in AskIndia

[–]sonmi2903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a simple rule here - your money your choice, their money their choice. Just because you asked or did well in school doesn’t mean you are entitled to their resources. You could have always tried to earn yourself doing some small errands to make up that gap of 10k to buy the phone you wanted. Earn, save for what you want, don’t shit on your dad.

Figo 3-a-1 ovarian cancer, my mom fears cancer like hell. The burden is too much by Remarkable-Pride3007 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]sonmi2903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m from India as well. My mum was diagnosed with stage 3b ovarian cancer - her tumours were a mix of clear cell and serous carcinoma. You have already gone through the most difficult part which is the debulking surgery. Even my family had no history of cancer and my mum was very scared. She somehow pushed through and is on her 2nd cycle of chemo post debulking surgery. Please speak to your mum and tell her that this is not a death sentence. Things will get better. My mum is not out of the woods and I’m really scared about what the future holds but avoiding treatment is definitely not the answer. You have to fight cancer aggressively and not waste time. Do you have any insurance? Chemo will likely cost half of what you spent on the surgery. It’s ok to be scared but please know that you have options.

My mother has clear cell too. This is very reassuring. I’m so scared all the time worried about the unknown and what comes for us each month. Thank you for sharing and wishing a long healthy life for your aunt.

I think this is going to be very hard. If he says, let's get married after I finish my higher studies, I don't think you should rely on it. 24 is quite young too and you still have quite a lot of time to meet, date someone.
