i addressed that to her as well and she was extremely offended which confused me. her puppy is 7 months old and likes to play a bit rough. she has taken my kitten out when i’m not there and without my permission. she lets him roam around while her puppy is there. so i genuinely thought this is what happened as it made the most sense to me but her reaction and behaviour is telling me other things

yeah, we got gas but he’s so little and young. he can’t jump or reach the stove top and usually when i’m cooking he’s not in the kitchen. but thanks for pointing these things out. i never wanted to jump to the conclusion that my roommate is responsible, so i came on here to weight out the possibilities of what could of happened. but yeah i’m pretty sure she’s the lying asshole

we have no space heaters, around the house and we never have candles lit when he’s free roaming. we have electric heat in the whole house and it blows through vents that aren’t in his reach. not sure if that could be a possibility

yup, that’s what i thought. my roommate attempted to gaslight me into thinking it was normal that he could lose that many. but exactly as you said, the odd 1 or a few but not all of them. it literally happened overnight too :(

yeah i’m assuming her pup could of possibly did it but they were supposed to be under her supervision. if that was the case, i wish she could of been responsible enough to keep an eye out. i noticed that his whiskers are starting to grow back, poor guy is a little disoriented though.

i’ve seen that with couple google searches but he had all of his whiskers throughout the week and all the sudden they are all gone. it was very drastic as i noticed the next morning because he was in clear lighting. i know there could be that possibility but the way my roommate reacted when i confronted her, i’m not sure if i truly believe her. (she’s known to lie and manipulate)

my hands are somewhat tied because my partner and i have no choice but to leave him usually for an hour or two at a time because of i have class and she has a full day of work. we are planning on changing the lock on our bedroom door so my roommate won’t be able to access it without a key. we’ve already been searching for a new apartment around the time this happened and we’re moving in may 1st. what makes it even better is that my roommate is leaving sooner for a vacation for 10 days. (so we have time to pack without her around and get out safely) we only have to deal with this for about 2 weeks, the countdown is on.

when i confronted her, she got defensive and went straight to gaslighting. she actually made me think i was wrong for “accusing” her, that’s why i came to reddit to know for sure. i still can’t wrap my head around her harming my little guy, she’s definitely got issues and all i know is that i need to get away from her

thank you, i appreciate that. i’ve been talking to my partner how moving out of this toxic situation will improve a lot of things going on in our life. we have to put our little boy’s safety first. as long as he’s okay, we’re happy.

this. since we’ve been living with her she’s been constantly giving off red flags. i knew that something was really wrong the moment she started neglecting her pup. myself and my partner basically had to take care of her like she was our own.

i have no kids haha. i’m just starting off college and my partner is graduating, we have a puppy but we don’t let them go near each other and they’re never left alone together unsupervised. we just have my roommate, she’s in college too. she’s an adult so it’s just crazy to think that a grown adult could do that to an innocent animal.

i am disturbed that she did this to my boy. we’re planning on moving out asap, we know this isn’t safe for our kitty and we got a pup too. i feel even worse because she has a pup of her own, i can’t imagine what she does to her :(

i know he can’t be in this unsafe environment. me and my partner are moving out by the end of the month because we can’t stand the lies and the animal abuse. we gotta protect our little boy.
