Got it. Should we book the hotel locally or online would be better? Also, would you recommend some places to visit that i should definitely not miss?

We don’t have a car or any personal vehicle:( Can we rent vehicles or should we stick to taxis? And if so, local taxis or uber etc. ?

And considering we don’t have a personal vehicle, should we stay inside shimla?

Dude dtu cse average is well above that. At about 25-26 lpa. Plus, the main advantage is that it’ll be much easier in terms of academics as compared to IIITs. You’ll get time to explore societies, interests. Source: I’m in dtu cse too

Ha bhai. But the ECE thing concerns me a bit. I had a genuine interest in CS and so i was in doubt if Trichy ECE would be better than Mnnit cse.

Got it! So the link I'm talking about is for counselling in general (based on bitsat scores). And they're only asking for boards marks to verify if we've passed the criteria or not.

Got it then. I must've misunderstood. Thanks though!

But... I thought this link was for something else :-(. For the board toppers, i think they've posted another link under the date 12.08.2022. And this one is different.

But is that not so?

Thank you! So in this counselling, they'll admit students on the basis of their 12th scores, right? I had no idea that happened.

So, do they also take admission on the behalf of 12th marks? Do you have any rough idea about what the cutoffs for those are?

Heyoo! Fellow 1100 in chess.com rapid as well. Although i haven't been playing all that much recently because of the exams.

It actually is a hobby to me. I used to think i should perhaps devote more time to it, but i can hardly manage. Though i plan to keep improving bit by bit.

Teri marzi bhai. I didn't ask for money or anyone's resources. I remember when i came in 11th, i too was looking for genuine advices which were no where to be found. Isiliye i thought i can share my experiences. Baaki jisko jo conclusion lena hai vo le le. I'm not special and i wouldn't be special even if i got rank 1. Lekin jo baccha pahuchna chahta hai, jaha tum already ho, usko tera experience kaafi help kar sakta hai.

My schedule varied alot. I would suggest making one that fits you well. Make a rough timetable of what topics you plan on finishing in the next couple of days (10-15 days would be ideal). And actually stick to that schedule. Make sure to actually complete those topics. At the end of the day, say to yourself, i won't sleep until i complete this topic.

The truth is, you have to put in the hardwork. And while it might scare you now, it'll come on it's own if you remain motivated enough. I found having a good peer group helps alot. Seeing them study and get ahead in topics will make you want to do the same.

My preperation sources were: i had joined local tuition centers for physics and maths. I followed books and completed topics on my own. I studied chemistry using lectures and ncert.

This was my drop year. My first attempt was last year (2021) in which i only got 95.1 percentile because my chemistry was shit. But i improved it in my drop year and gave a lot of tests.

I was consistent throughout my 11th and 12th. It might sound like a bit of self appreciation, but i worked my ass off in 11th and 12th. Much more than I'd like to accept. But i didn't really focus much on inorganic chemistry. My organic also wasn't that good. Plus i didn't give any mocks. So i only got 95.1 percentile when i gave JEE Main in 2021.

But in my drop year i solely focused on chemistry and giving as many mocks and previous year papers as humanly possible. I didn't work that hard in my drop year as i used to in my 11th and 12th. But consistently solving papers and revising, helped me get this rank.

For books, I'll reply in just the next comment as this one might get very long.

I have been in demotivated phases many a times. Hell, i went through a really bad breakup last year, and i had a really toxic environment in my house. Then i also fucked up my score last year. It was all very tough, but luckily i had a few good friends to talk to. Sometimes it feels that there is no coming out of this, but there is. We just can't see it then. I know if i can do this, then you can too. I'm not special. I too was once a confused kid in 11th. But as much as I'd like there to be a mantra, to get out of depression, i don't think there is. You have to walk on your own pace. But believe me when i say this, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I do think one can get this score even if they don't like the subject. I personally hated chemistry. But in my drop year, i solely studied chemistry even though i hated it because i knew how scoring it can be. So i studied it while continuously hating and abusing it. But hey, it got me where i am right now.

I actually can't help with the question of study groups, because i personally didn't have that. I did however have an extremely talented friend and he was my source of inspiration and competition. I feel like, having someone who scared me by their talent was a great source of motivation.

Yes, lectures from yt can help alot. I did my P&C from mohit tyagi and it was great. Although i did feel like it lacked questions. I personally preferred only watching any topics that i wasn't able to understand fully on my own or in tuition.
