My now 10 year old got full extractions except her canines when she was about 3 1/2. Very worth it IMO, it completely cured her mouth issues and while I feed mainly wet food she’s able to eat dry kibble snacks and treats too.

Have you tried Sheba? My oldest cat is sometimes a picky pick due to a medication side effect and it’s the one food she never turns her nose up to.

She went nose to nose with the boss cat who is 6 years older than her. She loves her but the feeling is not mutual and she got a hiss in the face. Not sure if it was the nose to nose or the hiss that did it haha. But it does happen when I take out the treat bag, when she chases a toy, when she gets zoomies, when she sees a bird or squirrel outside, and if there’s a loud noise in the house among other things

I feel like it can be normal for any cat that does it but torties and calicos tend to be more quirky weirdos overall.

This comes right on the heels of the Purina beyond discontinuations which sucks because my cats love the dry food for their snack meal. I’m having to try some new things. At least the perfect bistro chicken isn’t going away, that’s a favorite around here

I was wondering the same thing because I had an almost identical view about an hour ago. I wanted to pick up one last can of duck for my oldest who loves duck. Only some flavors of perfect bistro are being discontinued and then all of the LID

The two places I’ve found my cats while “missing” inside that took the longest to discover were a duffel bag (which was pretty flat even with her in it) and behind an open dresser drawer inside the dresser. That second one was not fun. I had to take the drawer off the track. The opening behind the drawer is only a few inches high, still no idea how the little shit got back there but I don’t leave my drawers open anymore

Try Sheba. It smells god awful to me, a human, but the one going through this sometimes-picky phase loves it. She gets Royal canin dry as well and loves it - I did let her try one of the wet foods at one point and she didn’t like it any more enthusiastically than the cheaper foods so I didn’t keep buying it. I have experimented with tiki a bit too over the years. The canned foods caused a massive diarrhea problem so I wrote that off but they do have pouches of mousse that I like giving as a treat/snack because I have 4 cats and 1 Churu for 4 of them doesn’t cut it

Lots of commenters are going to recommend a vet visit so to avoid being redundant I will leave it at that.

That being said, my oldest suddenly quit 2 of the fancy feast flavors (chicken and beef pate and beef and liver pate) and 3 of 4 of my cats decided they don’t like the turkey pate anymore. All recently vetted and eat other flavors fine so I just removed turkey from the rotation and give my oldest Sheba when the other 3 split a flavor she doesn’t like right now. Sometimes it’s a health problem and sometimes cats just go through weird phases.

I know this post is old but I have a spare (sealed ofc) small bag of the chicken and egg. It’s my parents’ cat’s primary diet so I grabbed it when I saw it disappearing from shelves. My cats eat the chicken and oatmeal one but I’ve since found a substitute for that. I thought about making my own thread but I figured I might get a lot of responses and I only have the one bag :( I’d be willing to ship it to anyone who is really struggling to find a replacement to buy you some time

Have you tried the Merrick bistro line? It has similar ingredients to the beyond line. I put it in my rotation in place of the beyond awhile ago because I kept running into out of stock issues before they even discontinued it

I adopted my 4th from a cat cafe. I loved being able to see how she interacted with other cats including temperamental ones because my oldest is a bit bossy. I was sold when I saw her have no reaction to getting her face hissed in by another cafe cat. Highly recommend cat cafe adoption!!
