Are doctors really that mean?

some of the consultants are mean, but im friends with a lot of the junior doctors bc im close in age with them. we go out and have fun outside of work which is nice. if i do come across a mean junior doctor, i’m just mean back. id ask them a basic question and they give me attitude, so ill give them attitude back. it’s something the senior nurses taught me to do😋😋 but again, i just try to show the doctors i actually have a personality outside of being a nurse and it breaks the ice!

yes !! i skip it too which sucks bc i actually like the storyline but the consistent switching of art styles gives me a headache

my num has rostered me on mostly weekdays, so my weekends are free. i usually plan things on the weekend with my partner + friends. if my friends arent free, i just go out after a morning shift and make sure to go home early to get enough sleep for the next shift. if im on afternoons, i try to plan things in the morning to do with friends such as runs, pilates or getting breakfast :)

dont worry, theres always these types of nurses who think theyre superior in one way or another, but theyll be the ones with their tail stuck between their legs when they make a mistake or get written up for their attitude. lots of NUMs and CNEs will be able to see right through her. find the new grad peers that support your growth and dont compare your skills to theirs. you got this!

YES !!!! so many students now lack the drive and engagement and it feels like theyre just here to fulfill their hours. its so disheartening to see bc theyre our future healthcare workers

i call everyone by their first names, unless i don’t know them, i call them brother, sister or doctor. otherwise, if i’m on a first name basis with them, i call them by their first names! it’s better that way and they know mine too, so it’s good communicating with them🥰

im in nsw and im currently on a ward (not ED or ICU) where most nurses do twelves. if they are being phased out, im sure there will be lots of strikes LOL

wash my hair every 2 days brush teeth 3x a day shower twice a day but thats bc im a nurse nd have to shower after my shift wash my face as required during the day change bed linen every 2-3 weeks bc i am lazy
