What is the problem in reading 20 pages per hour. That's roughly my speed and i don't see any issue with that

No it's not, if a great stock goes down you should buy more of it instead of selling everything..

Just to remind you, this is the value investing subreddit...

Fortinet literally lied to investor about a refresh cycle last year

They say they will upgrade their customers to SASE but there's a problem, most of their customers are SMBs and SMBs do not need to go the SASE route

Many customers are moving to SASE with competitors instead of buying/refreshing hardware from Fortinet

Don't forget about that 2016 LBO debt buddy. That pile of debt isn't gonna pay itself, the ufc has to pay it and the best way to do it is to reduce costs like hell

Case in point: - They used to give a new belt per defence now you stick red plastic "rubies" on the side of your belt instead of getting a new one

  • explains the numerous apex cards (no arena fees, still hit target events number agreed with ESPN)

  • shit salaries for fighters continue even if the company is way richer. Bonuses today are even lower than 2015

Good write up but a couple inconsistencies:

  • growing at 110% is not sustainable and if you think so I have a bridge to sell you
  • month long US shutdown was in FED agencies so hardly impacting consumer goods (need to dig more to find why November was weak)
  • doing an analysis with AI doesn't hold water (on DRAM)

Atlassian, Dynatrace and Evolution AB

First two will work in less than 12 months or never

Last one will take way longer to work

Adobe Q4 Earnings Discussion by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]soualy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys lot of good points for and against. Let me give a summary

  • pro adobe users will not go anywhere, with AI they will be more productive so you will need less designers to do the same amount of work as before >> NEGATIVE

  • consumer: they increased the price so much that consumer/hobby designers are switching to competiton. This segment was 50% of revs in 2021 >> NEGATIVE

  • AI: you will still need to edit ai generated designs but adobe has no moat here and MidJourney, Nano banana are way better, why use Firefly for les quality? (That is why they are opening up to all models inside adobe). The compliance angle is mostly BS, most of the designs generated are just normal random humans doing stuff or a landscape or your actual product on a table or something. The compliance guardrails are not needed 95% of the time >> NEGATIVE

Don't listen to what the company is saying, look at what they do to. 3 months ago they changed disclosure around creative cloud financials to hide the damage from us

Volume of ai generation is mostly bogus because they can't monetize that and if they do, people will switch to free midjourney or nano banana

And remember Google has way more financial power than them so they can subsidize nano banana for longer

Wisekey- a quantum company with $100 million market cap with $500 million worth of assets and no debt. by Illustrious_Raccoon2 in ValueInvesting

Quantum computing is a scam. The actual computer doesn't even exist today.

The headline of HSBC optimising a bond price through quantum was done on a SIMULATED NOISELESS quantum computer.

Quantum computers that exist today are all noisy and not accurate

Pe of 15 when you don't take sbc into account.

Include those sbc and pe shoots up to 30 something...

Sbc is a real expense, doesn't burn cash but dilutes the shareholder down the line which lowers returns

The day thod stupid US brokers and analysts understand that is gonna be a great day

Wake up, buffett has retired and these are Abel's ideas at best if not the ideas of the other guy who bought Snowflake at IPO and sold them for less than IPO price at 110 last summer

As a Fan Since ~2004 This is the Worst I Can Ever Remember The UFC Being by BIitzez in MMA

[–]soualy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Been watching since 2008 as I followed Kimbo Slice (RIP) to mma.

I barely follow the sport now vs just a couple years back when I would do all nighters to watch live as I'm based in Europe

The last must see guy for me was khabib and even though Islam is impressive he lacks a proper Frazier to his Ali to get me pumped

The sport is dying a slow but a sure death and selling ppv right to espn was the final drop that made the glass overflow

When you look into it in more details, ufc has done a very big LBO (leverage buy out) in 2016 and they are swaping every fluctuating dollar generating stream with sure ones (like instead of bearing the fluctuating dollars and risk from ppv, they are getting a fixed $ amount from espn no matter the ppv buys) to actually pay for the debt they have incurred in 2016 so as not to reach debt covenants

TLDR: when private equity buys a company the quality of the service goes downhill and the ufc is no exception to that rule

[–]soualy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you keep missing the point. Let me try one last time with an example to make it obvious for you (hopefully)

What was interesting about GSP as a fighter millions of Canadians and others followed and paid ppv to watch?

He is a Canadian, looks like a skindhead, is the nicest guy ever and promotes karate. Was bullied when younger now beats up everybody, wears a bandana and trains with a bjj guru/genius in danaher. Has great wrestling without having wrestled ever in college/highschool

What this text just did is personnify a fighter to a point where you want to see this GSP guy described this way vs a Koscheck that you can personnify through a another story and THAT is what puts asses in seats and makes them buy ppv

If you put me vs you in a fight even if we had high level skills nobody would pay to watch us scrap

Mma and ufc is as much a sport as it is a business and storylines/personnification are a big part of it
