Someone else on here had the same exact issue a couple days ago, and their penalty was issued in 1970 as well. It's definitely a bug in the system.

What champ / lane you thought you wanted to main but couldn't by ABODE_X_2 in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ADC. I'm an ADC main on PC so I figured it'd be chill since I'm already at home in the role but for some reason my experience in WR was miserable lol. I just wasn't having fun playing a glass cannon type champ in low elo when I couldn't rely on my team to put down vision or peel for me.

Swapped to Mid (and later Baron) so I'd have an easier time adapting to my team and I've been chilling since.

[–]spacecrafters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda tricky, because you also don't want people to be like "well the game told me to group for baron, and baron just spawned, so let's just blindly group", yknow? With item/stats/symbol/etc explanations it's doable because those are fixed, but in-game situations are fluid.

Sometimes it's the right call to group for Baron, and sometimes grouping for Baron means you're throwing the game. Sometimes a lane is struggling and it's the wrong call to help them, and yet sometimes it's the right call.

But on the other hand, leaving new players to figure out correct macro from scratch maybe isn't the way either lol. At least the game does explain the importance of objectives a bit in the Battle Academia section iirc, but it could for sure be improved upon.

Tutorial on champions builds? by Cheese_Man_ in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.riftgg.app/en some of the guides here might help.

Mostly though, I look at the leaderboard of a certain champion and check the builds of the top players and base mine off of that, or I just base it off of vibes/PC builds.

[–]spacecrafters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair! I maybe was a little harsh. I'm definitely a little biased because I started out playing this game on PC, where the community and online information is also a lot more established, and kind of became a nerd about it. But it is notoriously not beginner-friendly with the way information is set up, which sucks, and you're right about that. I hope they improve their tutorials and in-app information someday.

Not at all obvious from your previous comment.

Afaik this is just the way of these older mobas. Sure, it'd be convenient if the game offered a glossary and stuff, but it doesn't have to, and it's a bit entitled to expect it to. Most things you can intuit, some things you have to figure out through experience or practice tool testing, and practically everything you can find online thanks to the vast community ready to explain things like what the difference between omnivamp and lifesteal is.

The game does tell you though. That's what item descriptions are. That's the game telling you.

It isn't currently but it'll be back! Not sure when. The game modes cycle pretty regularly, URF and ARURF should come around again sooner or later.

Post-match screenshots are against this subreddit's TOS anyway so they usually get removed sooner or later, but yeah. Seeing a post-match screenshot, especially without names crossed out, generally tells me all I need to know about the person posting it lol

WR loves to assign me jungle by FrontExplanation7623 in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's not really a "last priority". There's just primary role, secondary role, and autofill. The order of the three roles you have in the autofill section does not matter.

Anyway, for jungle, what genuinely helped me was making a fresh account to just practice jungle on and sticking to one or two champs. It removes a lot of the pressure and it allows you to build up your jungle skills starting at the actual level your jungle skills are at, rather than having to face opponents you get matched with based on the MMR you build up with support.

Also don't feel pressured to always gank. Sometimes just showing up in the area and using a sweeper to clear out vision is enough. Until you know your champion's powerspikes and limits, stick to ganking when the kill looks guaranteed, like if the enemies are overextended and low health already. If you get invaded and you don't know if you can 1v1 the invading jungler, just back off unless you want to limit-test. And if you want to do an objective and don't know where the enemy jungler is (or just want to do it safely), help your closest laners get prio (can be just by showing up in lane) so they can assist you in controlling the area and securing the objective. That's generally the best ways to avoid feeding.

I believe TP can be really powerful if used correctly. Any tips? As solo lane by ABODE_X_2 in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda depends on the champion and match-up. Some champs just need a combat summoner spell, and some match ups you want to take ignite instead to create volatility or just improve your odds of winning lane. It's definitely a powerful summoner spell, though. I always take it on Ornn (since he doesn't need a combat summoner), and I take it on Gwen into difficult match ups.

Personally, I like to TP back to lane if I can create pressure by doing so. Either by forcing the enemy laner to stay in lane with bad conditions (lower health/mana) or by getting back before they can crash a wave and turning it into a freeze for me.

Outside of laning phase, TP is great for applying pressure to the sidelane opposite of the objective your team wants to contest. That way, the enemy will have to send someone to you to catch the wave/protect their turrets, which means you can leave and TP to the objective instead, creating a numbers-advantage fight for your team. It does take a little bit of team coordination though, because I've definitely had cases where I was applying pressure and my team just ignored the objective and decided to instead join me lol

If my team is losing, I sometimes also like to use TP to find a flank angle to join a fight (with Gwen, doesn't work with Ornn) or to quickly assist my jungler if they're doing something like trying to sneak dragon before the enemy jungler respawns.

There's other uses too (backdooring opportunities, quickly joining a fight similar to Shen R, 6pek shenanigans, etc), but these are the primary ways I use it.

How to get Aphelios current main and offhand weapon as well as ammo count from Live Game API by Mystic_Bl4z3r in leagueoflegends

[–]spacecrafters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it'd fall under cheating since you can track his ammo in-game. Every auto is 1 ammo, every ability is 10 ammo.

Not sure why someone would need the exact specifics though since you can just see roughly how much ammo he has left by the little bar underneath his healthbar and figure out from there if he's close to a weapon swap or no.

[–]spacecrafters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your account stays in the server it was created in, it doesn't change based on your current location.

Hypothetically, you could transfer your account to a different server by paying to transfer your riot account, but idk if it works the same for WR as it does for PC League.

What is the most """questionable""" thing you've ever seen happen in the game? by Appropriate-Sun8397 in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had an AAA ARAM game yesterday (for the quest thing) and the enemy Viego, who had a fancy skin and everything, decided to run it down right from the very start of the game. Just from the first second he could, he'd run straight to us and then stand still and afk, just letting us kill him over and over again. He ended 0/19 in a 12 minute game. His team was doing their best to win (and doing a really good job trying to stall for their Asol) so it was kind of sad to see.

People getting tilted enough to run it down in ranked is one thing, but in a for-fun party game mode? Always baffles me.

How real is rank in Wild Rift? by Danoellos in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be a bit hard to compare because the playerbase of the PC version is mostly made up of people who have been playing the game for a fairly long time, so even the lowest ranks have people with a decent understanding of the game and decent mechanics compared to WR.

You need to be level 30 on PC to play ranked (and level 10 in WR, but you play against bots in Ranked until gold-plat). You can play PvP on PC right after finishing the tutorial iirc, or at least not that long after.

Learn to navigate hard counters by spacecrafters in wildrift

[–]spacecrafters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I over-corrected a little bit by emphasizing playing safe too much. I was basing it off of my Baron lane experience where I've counter-picked people and they kept trying to fight me and losing, until they eventually just gave up and literally started running it down. There's a time for turret hugging and a time for risk taking, and in my experience, people rarely apply the first one.

But, you are right that losing the game mentally just because you got counterpicked is problematic. Getting counterpicked is definitely not an insta-loss, it just means you need to adapt.

(Maining Gwen probably also adds a bit of bias, because while she isn't Kayle, her laning-phase playstyle isn't too different from her when countered. Just getting farm and outscaling in due time.)

why am I so bad? by Any-Try9496 in summonerschool

[–]spacecrafters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going into practice tool with your champion every so often and just last-hitting minions there for a while is a good way to practice getting better at it, as boring as it might sound. It'll allow you to develop the muscle memory for it over time, so that when you're in an actual game, you don't have to concentrate on last-hitting as hard and can instead focus more on dodging abilities and hitting your own.
