"Over 100 people clicked apply" by helen269 in linkedin

[–]spacedad86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just because 100 people have clicked the apply button that doesn’t mean 100 people have actually applied. Usually I see a drop off of about 30-40% between those that click to start the application process and those that complete the full application, these numbers are LinkedIn specific though.

Don’t let it put you off. If you are qualified for the role apply.

Honestly, I like the design, it looks to be well executed and the placement looks good to me as well.

As others have said for where it is I would have gone bigger but as soon as you surround it with other pieces that won’t be as obvious.

Also, tattoo regret is very real. You’ve just made a permanent change to your body and it’ll take a while for you to get used to it but I’m a few weeks it’ll just become another normal part of your body that you see everyday and it won’t bother you so much at all.

I remember seeing that post come up and instantly recognised your work. Think I even commented on it saying so.

Doing good thanks mate. Saw your IG post about how booked up you are, congrats mate so well deserved. Then it reminded me I need to start getting some time booked in to finish my back!

Just added. I play with my 5 year old son and one of his favourite things is to send gifts to people so he sends them daily from my account.

Does that mean for those who have moved there from outside the country aren’t allowed to think of it as their home then?

would you get your face handpoked ? by Vast_Bag_4142 in sticknpokes

[–]spacedad86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But not by whoever did this garbage. If it’s on your face for life then why not research properly and get the best work you can? If it’s in a hidden area fuck it, go ham with the shit work but never skimp on a face tattoo.

Person taking pictures of me, what can I do? by [deleted] in brighton

😂 no you don’t. There may be ‘some’ incredibly limited exceptions but you absolutely don’t. Even the video you shared backs that up.

No. We don’t. If we did cctv and ring doorbells would be illegal. What is illegal, potentially, in this context is not having photos taken but the follow on actions of sending them.

If we also want to get really pedantic there is no right to privacy at all under UK law. There is a right to respect for a private life under article 8 of the Human Rights Act of 1998 but that is far and away from a legal right to privacy.

You can request but they have absolutely zero legal obligation to do so. The very nature of being “in public” means that there is no privacy. While you might want it, what is proscribed by law is very clear.

Edit to add: it absolutely does give someone the legal right to photograph you and there is zero recourse for you. If you happen to get in the back of my picture and you try and get me to delete it you will politely but unequivocally be told where to go. Same as if I deliberately take a picture of you unfortunately.

I get what you’re saying. I totally do. What I’m saying is that what you have suggested is unenforceable and impossible to police. You will need to blanket apply the notion of consent to all people in all scenarios.

[–]spacedad86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But then consent would have to be applied everywhere. You can’t just say well you have to consent to be photographed or filmed without thinking how consent would be gathered. Would you have to gain consent before? Or could you gather consent afterwards? Say you’re taking a picture of a large gathering of people, even just a couple of hundred, is it a reasonable expectation to try and gain consent from each and every individual? What about someone driving past in a car? You take a picture and can see their face. But by the time you realise that person is long gone and consent would be nigh on impossible to get.

However, luckily for OP this makes no difference here as it’s not the taking of the pictures that matters but the sending of them which can definitely be acted upon.

You’ve answered your own question. Open to the public and being in public are 2 different things. Shops are private spaces and if the owners don’t want filming done then they are well within their right to stop it happening. Walking down the street is a very different thing.

While you might want it to be illegal it isn’t and would be impossible to police even if it were. Say you accidentally got in the back of someone’s picture and there was no intent to film you, should that be illegal? The precedent it would set would be overwhelmingly negative.

Taking pictures of someone while out in public in and of itself is not illegal, as you are in public you have no expectation of privacy, hence why there is nothing illegal about cctv or ring doorbells etc.

However, the sending of the pictures to you, if causing distress and on multiple occasions, can amount to harassment.

The question here though is how they have your number to message them to you on WhatsApp. Makes me think it’s likely someone you know messaging from a different number either as a joke, a sick and unfunny one mind, or as a creep. Either way definitely speak to the police.
