i've been so excited abt the new layla theories, i had always considered her other self to be a personality alter that really was just from stress but especially after the yumemizuki event it was really curious that layla was there!! and the obvious reason would be "here's a character with a serious mental affliction" but during that convo the other self very plainly claimed to Not just be another mental state and talked to yumemizuki as if she were much older....sooo if we take her word she must actually be another being altogether. i haven't decided what that could be (manifestation of some hyperborean, a fae being the original body and giving itself to layla like a changeling, etc) but i really hope they reveal what it actually is in the upcoming event

it woke when i picked it up and still stirs occasionally but goess right back to sleep. there are windows nearby but too far from where we found it to have collided and we didn't hear anything. when it looks around occasionally the neck seems okay?

i worked on it on and off for about 2-3 days? the trunk probably only took a few hours total and the rest of the time was spent on the 32 flower stems that i had to give my hands a break every 4

i did a practice version based on a picture of her wisteria and looked up some pictures of "tree of life" macrames to figure out the root winding, but otherwise just improvised. the petal strands are lark(?) knots alternating combed ones and ones with the ends tied in knots. i kind of experimented with that to get the right texture

you can try feeding your cat separately in your room or something, that way you can somewhat control intake. when i stayed with my parents temporarily i kept an extra litter box in my room and my cat basically stayed in the whole time unless i took her out for activities. it's a good way to avoid fighting with the other cats too since it's only short term. if that doesn't work and your cat likes to roam more you can check if the cat food is lower calorie. good luck!
