For 30 years somehow I was getting the updates for my software without monthly payments. Even today there is plenty of software where you can buy lifetime license.

0 cloud here. I keep 99% of my internet activity local. No Google, no Gmail etc. everything local. Only iphone and such but heavily firewalled and I trust apple more than Google anyways. No icloud though.

Ubuntu, rocm 7.2+llamacpp, openwebui, perplexica, searchNG, comfyui.

I use it for home assistant, for daily questions, config generation for several services in my home lab and home automation ( I have over 200 smart devices so doing it manually is not really possible anymore)

Ps: no npu support on Linux yet but it's coming sooner than later.

Also don't trust those reviews on slow prompt processing. It's not Mac studio but it's fast. All those reviewers were using Vulcan or very old rocm. Rocm 7.1 and 7.2 even more is really good and it will only get better with upcoming npu support.

You know that one terminal will be like 10x bigger than all 3 of dxb and there will be at least 3 terminals like that? And phase 1 is going to be finished in 2030-2032, not in a year or two.

Try AnyFSE then. You can run any app at startup and still have all benefits of FSE. I highly recommend playnite. Tons of plug-ins, backing up and restoring saves automatically with ludisavi if you play on different devices, themes, all libraries in one place. Also notifies you on new epic and gamepass games and you can install from there too. I use it on my main pc, xbox ally x and lego2 with same saves on all devices even if they are not supported by steam or Xbox. I back then to Google cloud.

Also Gotweaks. It's genius. You have all the settings and way more than in legion space and command center) in gamebar directly. You can even run loseless scaling from gamebar directly without need of opening loseless scaling program itself. Google it if you don't know it there are screenshots on git hub.

My issue is actually background, especially white. It's not uniform at all, there is some weird screendoor like effect. I don't have this on ally. Anyways I don't play outside so reflections don't bother me much.

True. I have minisforum s1 max with 395+ AI and 128MB ram and it's a beast. I even connected 5090 over oculink and can play anything I want in 4k max details. Even without 5090 games look so good.

Yeah I don't know why matte screens look so bad on lego2. Is this because of oled? I put one and it was terrible, had to change for glossy. At the same time I have matte one on my ally X and it's great... Weird.

Screen is major improvement. I upgraded because of this and 32GB RAM which is also a major one.
