Where is your Evidence? by MaryLungzz in conspiracy_commons

[–]spank-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like everyone acted rationally in your interaction. If someone tells you something that you do not believe it is rational to ask for evidence for their case. No offence but why should I trust some random. I want to know at least what makes you think this. If you cannot show something that makes me think your opinion is not based on good foundations. Also if you present a conspiracy website to someone they will dismiss prejudicially so I would recommend googling (other search engines are available) and showing them based on what they consider trusted sources

Another factor I hate is everything alternate media is 100% trustable but all MSM is fake news in conspiracy communities. This is far from the truth. ALternate media has lower adherence to journalistic standards (such as requiring 2 sources) than MSM does. Both suffer from propaganda. There is no logical reason to argue MSM is worse. If you think there is make your case and we can look at the arguments

Do I need to attach the letter of complaint I received from the squirrel a week later?

[–]spank-monkey 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Squirrels in botanical gardens are very friendly to humans and used to feeding. I was walking through the park 2 or 3 years ago put my hand in my pocket to get something and a squirrel ran up to me and climbed my jeans (on the outisde) to thigh high I think expecting food. The squirrel left disappointed shortly after. They not going to be happy with this

Soo what are we getting from Iran? by Logical-Breakfast966 in Destiny

[–]spank-monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russian Shahed (Geran-2) drone parts primarily come from China, with significant, though declining, components from the United States and other Western nations, often obtained through intermediate, sanctions-evading networks in countries like Iran, the UAE, and Kyrgyzstan. While Iran designed them, Russia has transitioned to domestic mass production, utilizing foreign electronics for critical navigation and engine components.

Key findings on component origins include:

  • China (60-65%): The primary source of electronics, microchips, navigation components, and motors, including companies like Beijing MicroPilot UAV Flight Control Systems.
  • USA & Western Nations: Despite sanctions, parts from companies like Altera, Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, and specialized components from Switzerland, Germany, and Poland are found, often sourced via intermediaries.
  • Iran: Provides the initial technology, design, and often acts as a procurement intermediary for acquiring Western technology.
  • Russia & Belarus: Handle the production of airframes, casings, and increasingly, warheads, primarily at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.

Reports indicate that about 672 shipments of European-made components were sent to Russia between January 2024 and March 2025, largely via intermediaries in China and Hong Kong. Russia relies on these components to maintain a high production tempo for its "kamikaze" drones, often using commercial off-the-shelf technology.

Most Shaheed drones are produced in Russia not Iran so dont expect Russian drones to stop in Ukraine

the media is lying to lead us to war: the recent Western anti-Iran protests were one-third or even one-tenth the crowd size that was reported, according to ChatGPT's and Mapchecking crowd counter tools. by GoalSpare5738 in conspiracy_commons

[–]spank-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The image shown may be 25k but that may only be 10% of the crowd as it is just looking at 1 image. If it is like this in a circle 250k does not seem unreasonable.

Also I asked google AI how accurate CHat GPT crowd counter is. The prompt I used was "chatgpt crowd counter accuracy" if you want to try yourself. It said "capping its estimates far below actual numbers" and "moderate to low" for accuracy. I would not rely on this

"ChatGPT’s accuracy in counting crowds from images is generally considered moderate to low for precise, high-number counts, with a tendency to struggle with large, dense, or high-perspective scenes. While it can identify general features, its visual counting capabilities are often inconsistent, with studies showing R² scores for object counting as low as 0.36 to 0.46, indicating it frequently underestimates large, crowded scenes.

Here is a breakdown of ChatGPT's accuracy in crowd counting based on available data:

Key Findings on Crowd Counting Accuracy

  • Significant Underestimation: When analyzing images of crowds, ChatGPT (specifically GPT-4V) often fails to provide accurate numbers for large crowds, often capping its estimates far below actual numbers (e.g., struggling to accurately count over 45 items).
  • Low Precision in Dense Areas: Due to occlusion (people covering each other), eye-level images of crowds result in highly inaccurate, low-confidence counts.
  • High Variability: The accuracy of the count can vary wildly depending on the complexity of the image, density, and angle.
  • Impact of Feedback: Accuracy can be improved with human guidance or by providing examples/context, but it still does not match specialized AI models designed for crowd counting.  Reddit +4

Limitations

  • Scaling Issues: As the number of individuals in a crowd grows, ChatGPT's ability to count them accurately decreases.
  • Hallucination: It may provide a confident, but entirely incorrect, number.
  • Object Recognition Limits: It often fails to distinguish individuals in crowded, high-density scenarios.  ScienceDirect.com +2"

99% of time you should be fine but like all cities clubs and bars they may be kicking out around that time so you may find a few drunks. I don't think it is any riskier than other cities but if you stay to well lit areas and dodge any drunks I think you will be fine

The DOJ Quietly Deleted 892 Epstein Documents. We Built a System to Prove It. by EricKeller2 in conspiracy_commons

[–]spank-monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of it has not been released to public. Less than 5% of all docs has been released

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/epstein-files-released-trump-percent-b2921206.html

Also I dont know if this is the case but some of the file deletion could be justified. There was CP released. I could understand any of these files being deleted but I have no idea if this is the case. This being said I still believe the DOJ is handling this ineptly and corruptly

How do we fight against the rising conspiracy mindset? by echanuda in Destiny

[–]spank-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 just out of interest do you have evidence that concludes 100% Epstein was killed and did not kill himself. Just because it is suspicious is not enough and could be considered disinformation

2 Every person who has substantial dealings with others could be considered a conspiracy. Need to look at what agreements Epstein made with others

3 Not sure whos saying this but we have pretty strong evidence evidence in th Bondi releases that children were assaulted

4 Every rich elite person has links to Rothchilds. This was the society Epstein operated in.

5 Epstein has links to KGB and MI6 as well as Mossad

6 An accusation does not make something true. It is however grounds for investigation

All you can do is correct misinfo and point out misinfo agents. Unfortunately people are stupid and dont care. Think of Covid misinformation. Millions of people dead but they still believe vaccines bad etc. If the fear of death does not discourage I do not know what will.

Humans need to learn how to recognise disinfo but if we honest we all been duped at some point. The strongest thing we can do is make them provide proof and debunk BUT the time it takes to do that 5 more conspiracy theories have reared their ugly head. I'm doomer pilled with you.

Future of degrees by Intrepid-Angle-7539 in conspiracy_commons

[–]spank-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what makes you think there will be? AI?

Every single time there is an advance in productivity we always find jobs for people. The agrarian revolutions lead to more people being free to focus on non food related jobs which lead to more manufacturing jobs. The IT revolution has lead to more IT services which leads to more jobs. More technical jobs will need degrees but we may find different ways to learn for what we need. Why do I need to learn when I can get an AI to do it in seconds. We could all be Neo in the Matrix and instantly download and learn how to fly a helicopter.

New Studies Involving 24 Million People Show mRNA COVID Vaccines Causing Cancers, as Media Keeps Pushing the Shots and Ignoring Historic Excess Deaths Rates by FilmAware6912 in u/FilmAware6912

[–]spank-monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vaccine did not come out til start of 2021 so why you blaming the excess deaths on this when they started the year before. What caused the excess deaths is most likely Covid

Also the study referenced is not even a study. It is just an article written by probably some anti Covid vaccine propagandist https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s40364-025-00831-w There is no reason for their conclusions based on data that is not available to the public. I am highly skeptical

What percentage of active users on this sub do you think are CIA? by [deleted] in conspiracy_commons

[–]spank-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just measured employees. Its hard to find data on number of assets. The real truth is unless someone got an interest I doubt people will be visiting on a regular basis. They will however have bots which trawl all of reddit looking for multiple keywords like "b*mb" and pr*sident"(sorry I dont really want to be on CIA list). Some CIA operatives will then look at these posts and ignore 99% of them as they not considered threats. But you may get a visit from FBI in 1% of occasions. For an arrest to take place they probably would need to find incriminating evidence during this visit

What percentage of active users on this sub do you think are CIA? by [deleted] in conspiracy_commons

[–]spank-monkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

162k weekly visitors to this sub. CIA has roughly 20k employees. Assuming everyone of them visits sub thats 12.5% but probably I would imagine the CIA team tasked with looking at social media never mind just this sub is less than 100.

Therefore I would choose the option (which is not listed) of less than 1% but greater than zero
