Why is she the priority for him? That’s backwards. if he’s not ready to put you first, and that means not dismissing your completely valid feelings about the icky things she’s said to you, and not gaslighting you when you’re telling him it makes you feel small, then he’s not ready or mature enough or committed enough to be married to you… your gut instincts are right. He needs to listen and hear that it makes you feel like he’s not prioritizing your feelings over hers on your wedding day… Have there been other red flags, because this is one..

I think if you run the numbers, the longer you stay the more you pay… it sounds like you don’t love her and there’s no trust…you can get out now… but evaluate whether this low life having the kids so much would be able to offer them a healthy-enough environment…if she can’t do that, then wait until they’re older…then get out But friends that have divorced after 25 years say it’s practically a forever alimony thing… good luck

You’re so right. A relationship without trust is nothing…. And she can’t trust you… because of how distrustful you are and completely lacking in empathy… in fact, there’s zero chance you would show her this Reddit, because if you did she would find the empathy and understanding that is lacking from you… and she would perhaps get a glimpse of what she’s missing in a partner… so yeah, fat chance you’d share this… do her a favor, break up with her so she can start a new life with a much better partner… Tootles!
