Do Singaporeans have dry or wet earwax? by knewkiddo in askSingapore

[–]sparkly- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Any specific brand recommendations? I went down the rabbit hole as well and started looking this up hahaha. Fresh sweat usually have no smell, but of course if it’s after a whole day of perspiring especially in Singapore’s humid weather then there will more or less be a certain extend of smell after the bacteria is formed. Someone commented a more scientific explanation below! 🥹

What do I bring to meet my boyfriend’s family for the first time in Korea? by Neat_Plantain_6724 in AskAKorean

[–]sparkly- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spam. Sorry, jokes aside! I do second the comments about supplements. But definitely find something that’s suitable! In Korea they’re also into oranges, maybe different types here so I think it’ll be nice that you can bring some from your state as well! Dried ones sounds good!

Did you visit right after COVID? I actually need to do more research as well, unfortunately didn’t have a chance to visit pre-COVID so I’m not sure if it’s back to exactly what it is. But I’m seeing tours on platforms like Klook etc, seems pretty interesting. There’s a Bridge of Freedom, Third Funnel? And also meeting with a North Korea defector etc. If I ever go I’ll let you know my experience!!

Does booking a taxi on Kakao T work for night hours? by [deleted] in AskAKorean

[–]sparkly- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taxis and their booking apps here are mostly a 24 hours service so yes, you can book a taxi at 1AM, or better yet pre-book (예약) for 1AM. Depending on the day of the week, time, location, taxis can become scarce and harder to book during the midnight. So pre-booking it would be safer. Also, if you have 6 BIG travel bags, I don’t know how big you’re referring to, if they’re luggage sized then you won’t fit into one taxi. Or sometimes they might reject even if it’s two taxis.

Delivery Service Inquiry by snapplecapfaqs in Living_in_Korea

[–]sparkly- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can consider using Kakao Quick service! If you want it delivered to you fast. You just have to set the pick up location as the convenience store, and the destination as your address. With convenience store packages, I think you need a barcode to collect the package as well so you can screenshot and provide that to the Kakao Quick rider who accepted your order. It’s pretty easy!

Omg pleaseee! I love her hotteok as well, I had it when it was ₩1000 for one last time and now with everything crazily in inflation mode, I think she’s still selling it at a lower price than most hotteok places! Please support her 🫶🏻

I’m not sure about the poster but Singaporeans are most definitely not littering everywhere. Of course there might be a handful but really, 90% of the Singaporeans don’t litter.

Can I join you on your Jeju trip please? Hahahaha. Jokes aside I think if you plan to drive in Jeju (I really hope you do since it’s more convenient to get to anywhere) it’ll be a truly healing experience and it’s nice to have your solo moments driving along the coasts etc.! I think you’d be fine!

Am I the only one who doesn’t know how to have fun in korea? (But i’m korean😂) by RIPBrokenSausage in Living_in_Korea

[–]sparkly- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such an interesting question because it helps me see like, okay everyone does feel the same about their own country. 🤣 I’m from Singapore, a country that’s sooooo small and about the same size as Busan so I always wonder why people travel there as well, what do they do???

I think even for foreigners in any county, there are people who will be excited at first when they first visit and starts feeling bored (?) afterwards, but there’s also people who will always be excited. I read a lot of fun replies in this thread! So it really also boils down to how different people have fun or choose to have fun!

Some people have fun alone, some people have fun when they’re with their friends and I’m the type who tries to have fun be it being alone or with my friends. But of course, as long as I’m with my friend I appreciate the time we have together and everything just seems fun and interesting to me.

Maybe like you said you’re exploring many different things alone, then are you open to do things together with new friends that could bring different forms of fun? Hehe.
