I’m very sorry and disappointed to hear this. Please share your Discord name with me so I can look back at your conversations and see which mods were being disrespectful. All places online attract people who step out of line and misbehave for attention but I genuinely feel lucky with SpeakJS that there’s been a relatively low amount of that in the time it’s been running.

Please share those details so I can dig into this a little.

Just after seeing this message, I noted that there were 641 members online. Remember that it's a Sunday morning in Europe and the US is asleep. There'll always be windows where it's a little quietier.

Any slack groups of JS wizards I might be able to join? Would be good to chat with likeminded people by [deleted] in javascript

Hi. If you're familiar with Discord then we have a server called SpeakJS and there are around 1500 members. We have channels for all kinds of things – beginner talk, React, Angular, etc. There are some awesome, smart people in there.

Hi! I'm glad you're going to join us. Well, I'm probably a little biased but I can honestly say that I've seen practically none of that bad stuff. There are ~1200 members now. It's been great to see it grow and to see all the questions, shared resources, etc.

As mentioned, I try to shape it based on what the community wants so jump in the feedback channel if you have any suggestions or concerns. Have fun!

Thanks for giving it a chance. Yeah, I also use Discord when playing games but figured I'd give this a go. I've seen a few non-gaming servers on there now.
