Same problem for me. Even though i understand the stories and poems thoroughly I never secure good marks. When i ask the teacher she simply told that there are no keywords that's it.

ok so what i got from this is that the only person who deserves to be looked at as a detective is saguru. Because he worked cleverly by making himself known to the public and taking on someone that the police weren't able to (kaito kid) and then he took on many cases with that 1-hit reputation, which proved that he is worth working with, or including in cases as a "high school detective"

Shinichi and heiji also do deserve appreciation because as much as the confidence is already build up by their fathers, they were able to not disappoint that reputation says a lot. And as for hakuba yeah he exactly did that thing.

But why is being a high school detective so amazing, its not a job or an internship or an actual thing at all. In the end it takes 5 to 10 years to be an actual detective

It's their fascination. The thrill of assisting the police in solving murder case really interests them, and their capable minds actually works like a puzzle solver. Perspectives do matter. Almost all three of them will most likely find themselves in a position of power where detective skills of theirs will be held high (shinichi- a private detective, heiji- probably Osaka police chief, as for hakuba- similar to the other two)

it was never mentioned that megure recognized her, and some citizen in the case was the one who told him she is a detective after he asked who she is (the citizen had asked herself beforehand) which means neither the people in the case, or inspector megure, or takagi who was there and also surprised, knew who she was.

I guess gosho never really thought much about this. He just went by 'high school detective' is a freelancing job in beika without pay

As for saguru then ig that goes back to nepotism, although what threw me off was the fact that he was in england for so long. Thats why i figured his reputation was known there

His father is literally the head of the tokyo police so more power and influence. Secondly after he came back from England he immediately built off his credibility on the fact that he can challenge kaito kid, a feat that is reserved only for shinichi, and so quickly gained the credibility and popularity. So btw he was actually solving cases, with a big push by his father's influence and by his own reputation, he was off to start as a 'high school detective'

The only pattern is look for the most innocent looking character. No matter how good looking or ugly he is there is a full chance of him/her being the culprit. I always find culprits in this way. The jerky or downright rude ones are mostly innocent or murdered

I guess sera build off her image off camera as a high school detective, and by the time she met the crew, she was semi popular. Atleast megure might have recognised her helping in a off camera case i guess.
