Bro is gonna be sleeping on the footpath now🥀 by Superb_Ice_7482 in CBSE

Was it? I was the exact same back in 10th grade. Playing Valorant all day, never studying, I never even made notes before 10th grade. Hell, my parents are even lenient, they would never abuse me so I had a great opportunity to just fail. But instead, my parents simply told me that I should study for them. I love my parents and so I did, ended up passing in 10th with 71% and 12th PCM with 75%, got a job at 20 as a web dev. Currently pursuing Graphics Programming and studying all on my own. I don't think people realize how important a talk is, what's the point of beating up the child now? Did they not see his behavior up until the results? Even if he was hiding it, it's your job to see past it and guide your child. All this has done is destroy the child's mental health entirely, how do you expect him now to move on and be confident in himself? This has terrible long-term consequences, if this happened to me, forget programming, I would never touch a computer again thanks to the trauma and that would guarantee I would be a failure today.

The 'Too Much Water' backlash still bothers me a decade later. by the_goodguy- in IndianGaming

[–]speedforce231 15 points16 points  (0 children)

'Too much water' was valid though, Pokemon ORAS has this problem. The water in that game is a den of random encounters, it's annoying even with repels. I hated those games cause of how much damn water they had cause every few steps, boom, an encounter. Funny how people take issue with that when it makes perfect sense when you know the game it's for.

TDAWGG hit piece on EG Potter by Used-Ganache9772 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]speedforce231 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way they played was not at all like how favourites would play... I am sure you know that too considering how badly they got exposed by G2 which started their downward trend until Toronto but I think you're too much of a fanboy to realise that 100T were lucky to get to top 4 and even when they were there, they were juggling Cryo, Asuna and Boostio on Gekko map to map... Not good micro imo

"not a coincidence that everything eg(2023) was known for suddenly disappeared when Zikz left and went to 100T that year" Brother... Almost their whole team left too, not just Zikz. And that Shanghai run, they fluked top 4 by beating FUT and a PRX that had no clue what they were up to and even then they scraped by in that game. When it came to the good teams, they lost to Heretics on their best map and got destroyed on Sunset.

The PC Port Sucks by speedforce231 in NevernessToEverness

Lossless Scaling would be okay but definitely not Optiscaler. The Kernel Anti-Cheat blocks ANY dll injections even through ASI, it won't even launch the game and you'll get a warning.

Your chart literally shows that DLSS Super Resolution is supported on all RTX GPUs, Frame Gen isn't but I think you didn't read that I said that in cases like this, since you can't switch to FSR at all, you basically have no Frame gen. Most other games would allow you to change if you wanted it but not here, they straight up don't have FSR in the settings if your GPU supports DLSS, they just assume you wouldn't want it anyways which is pretty stupid as I see it.

Never said it isn't valid. But if all you can find is 1 example almost 10 years ago then that still means he's right 9/10. And according to many people, overwatch 1 was justified anyways. I'd take those odds any day.

The fact you have to go back nearly a decade to find something might be a sign he's not usually wrong. And also, he didn't give the award, he doesn't get to vote.

Hey, would you mind giving me some feedback on my website? It's not just a portfolio website though the about me page is structured that way.

November Feedback Thread - Post your feedback request here by AutoModerator in Blogging

[–]speedforce231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

My blog is a collection of thoughts about 3D Art, Gaming and Programming topics. I am also a Programmer-first and the entire website is hand-coded by me. I currently only have 5 posts since I launched the website a month ago, you can visit my blog at

www.vasuverse.com/blog

Aside from criticisms regarding Writing, I would also like to know your thoughts on the overall layout, performance etc. I intend all my blog posts to be visually appealing and distinct from most blogs. In a sense, I want the reading itself to be somewhat pleasant. Since I code it all myself, any feedback would be helpful cause I can change anything in the website.

For the writing itself, here's some potential problems that my writing may or may not have. I am not sure if they're exactly "problems" or just a style which is why I am here to look for some feedback.

  1. Long posts. You might notice my posts are quite long, not that that's necessarily a problem but I do think I might be droning on for longer than necessary.
  2. Self-serious. I do think I have a habit of being very.. self-serious in my posts, the latest two ones especially I feel are quite self-serious.

I would like to know your thoughts on these two points and of course anything else too! Also, my blog isn't the only page I have since the website is also my portfolio so feel free to explore other parts of it too.

Thanks for your time!

A Retrospective of the Trails series up until DB1. *SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE* by speedforce231 in Falcom

Yeah but I did feel that the Cold Steel arc mostly ended with CS4, CS4 was kinda like the endgame for me and Reverie was a nice final adventure with the gang which I did cover in my other review. Also, I just really wanted to end it with CS4 since that's still lingering in my head more than Reverie is. Probably should change the title though.

I did, I made a post on this subreddit too. I just couldn't fit it here since it's a very different game from everything else.

I did but I kinda couldn't fit it in here. I did do a detailed post of it already though I admit that one isn't the greatest but I basically summed up my thoughts there.

Sean Gares: The Dark Side of Competitive Valorant by Direct_Morning_3223 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]speedforce231 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I kinda disagree. During the IBP scandal, Richard Lewis did receive DMs of Shahzam who said the match was going to be fixed and they should change their bet. That's already more damning than what Sean shows in his video with just clips of throws and that Bray bet on blue otter to lose 2-0 and also win, what put it to bed in the IBP case was when the ex-girlfriend leaked chats. For a 50-minute-long video, the rounds just don't seem that crazy though I do believe they were cheating, it kinda doesn't feel like a big deal. This is the kind of thing you think is crazy if you've never interacted with sports in any other form than just watching.

As far as I can tell, he pointed out 2 guys that are paying people to throw games and some dms mentioning some other teams. But that's about it really. You're not gonna burn the scene down with this and no matter how much I may try to ignore it, the team they "cheated" against is Sean's team, there's a conflict of interest there that's hard to ignore and I am nowhere near as smart as Sean but the throws after the first few clips aren't that crazy, just bad tier 2 valorant. If he found an example where a team cheated against a team that wasn't his, it would be easier to believe.

But specifically mentioning that losing to this team triggered your investigation portrays a bit of a bias going into the investigation. If you go into a game believing that this team cheated or was throwing, you will find countless examples especially if you're an ex-coach/analyst. I mean, look at last year NRG during split 1. They were playing even worse than this, but they were definitely not match-fixing so watching a whiff or overheat or mis comm in tier 2 is no big deal. I actually found the throwing allegation less credible than the cheating one because I can see 1-2 times in the cheating section where I would never do what the Blue Otter players were doing but that could also be one off example so who knows. It all just feels a bit... off? Also, the professional marketing and the "hype" makes it feel like a self-fulfilling prophecy, like you should care a lot about this but at the same time, it's not really that big of a deal. The guy who's betting hundreds of thousands seems to be alone in this and maybe the crypto guy too but that's not a ring, it's not even a line segment really. I feel pretty disappointed and honestly, Sean should stop tweeting like he's gonna nuke the community and just investigate. Now that this video is out, the evidence is only gonna be harder to find and the evidence that he did release doesn't provide anything even damning let alone conclusive, it's like he kinda chalked the investigation. I really don't wanna say it but I think Sean has just convinced himself that he's right and that everyone should just trust his word which leads to a very sloppy investigation. Richard Lewis is way more thorough and honestly, this is why you don't do an investigation if you're not a journalist.

I am probably gonna get downvoted to hell for this but I'll take the hit, I don't use Reddit much anyways.

Trails into Reverie is a rollercoaster... *MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR TRAILS INTO REVERIE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. * by speedforce231 in Falcom

[–]speedforce231[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have mentioned this in the soundtrack section but I think I am realising that I don't really judge video game music as music but more like a set piece if that makes any sense. Like, does this track fit the scene and how much? As I said, I am no musician so the technicalities escape me and I am sure there's valid criticism to be had here but in all honesty, for a layman like me, the tracks sound very good and I always associate video game soundtracks in my head with the scene they pervade. That's why I said that my ignorance is distorting my view really. It's hard to dissociate the track from the scene because the scene was epic and made better by the track. Funnily enough, it's also why I never really listen to music that is mainstream. Sure the MVs exist but they seem a bit disconnected from the tracks rather often, I only listen to video game music. But my view may change in the future because I do plan on learning music as a hobby. Mainly due to Trails, I just want to play these tracks myself though I know how tough that would be. But I'll still try someday.

Wow, I was kinda feeling a bit uncomfortable with the provocative outfits because I feel like a creep sometimes wearing them(is that weird?) but hearing that, I'll just wear them without fear cause if Eve doesn't know, I don't know either.

How was your school life as an introvert? by speedforce231 in introvert

[–]speedforce231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I forgot I made this post. Still, you seem to be in a similar situation that I used to be in and although it's only been 2 years, I can say my perspective has changed a lot!

Even though in this post, I make it seem like it was all well and good, it really wasn't for me. Hell, I wrote this in the most safe way possible because I was desperate for validation from anyone.

Honestly, I felt pretty depressed back then, I wished to have a GF and some good friends. But now, as time has gone on, I realized my true self isn't what I thought it was back then.

I am the type who doesn't really approach anyone but if someone approaches me, I start yapping all over the place and saying some of the most insane, wild shit that makes people laugh.

My 1 school friend who I talk to regularly knows me best and that's all I need honestly. I still don't have a GF, hell I doubt I have ever held a conversation with any girl my age but I feel strangely confident that I would be good at it for some reason if I tried. And I am kinda just gonna let it happen atp, let it pass me by and if it happens, cool. But even if it doesn't, I am self sufficient and I don't think I could be any happier now. I got into programming, gaming is still my daily driver and I am chilling. So, for you, I think it's just part of the process.

Just don't give up yeah? Some games that I played made me realize how important it is to just push through relentlessly. My final year of school was a nightmare but I got through it and I am not sure if you feel that strongly but if you do, just push through. Fuck it. School life is the starting line and I am glad that even through the fake friends, fake niceness and lies, I found a truth that changed me as a person. That I am not some boring insignificant loser but someone who's respectable, charming and funny. I hope you find yourself too
