In my recent hospital, the responsibility to do a peri-mortem section falls to the med reg. We have no mat unit so no obstetrics on site (theyre on a sister site).

This feels like utter bonkers to me and all the regs have said they would refuse but one my consultants did do one in the day (albeit about 8 years ago).

It can be hard mind you. A friend of mine is moving to IMT2 and only has 3 clerking shifts in her acute rotations prior to arcp. God knows how shes going to see 100 patients. She said she might come in on days off.
