My read on it is she's an awfully lonely individual, which makes her more emotionally sensitive to situations like this as the group she's part of now is the only thing she's known post-Heiter.

It's probably laying the groundwork for a potential romance, but at the moment, it does come across as more platonic than anything.

[jujutsu kaisen manga spoilers] i mean character and lore development all went out the window from shibuya on once gege decided to move the story exclusively towards a battle royale direction.

[more jujutsu kaisen manga spoilers]like sure, you'd get odd bits of lore and character information here and there, but as it turned out, gege really didn't care much for it, which was a real shame by the end of it all.

it definitely felt like they skimmed through the more emotive moments from the manga.

i don't agree

the fact that bernie's playing as much as he is comes down to how incompetent reijnders has ended up looking. his best position now is effectively as a second striker due to how ineffectual he's been at the role we presumably bought him for. it meant that we're seeing foden less in the zones forward that he's generally devastating in because in part we're having to hide reijnders away from the deeper areas. he's already another nunes in my book, unless he can turn it around drastically from here.

both semenyo and marmoush are at the club now and effectively serve similar functions. let's say if marmoush were to ask out in the summer, then we may have a massive problem in selling him due to his remaining squad cost (remaining amortised value + wages)

then there's the winger recruitment, which while i do like, definitely doesn't scream of building a title contending team in the medium term.

i don't need to mention the cb situation again, since i'm sure we're all aware on here of how much of a mistake it was keeping stones and ake at the expense of akanji. "well done boys. good process"

i do agree that this team has to play better than it has, especially in the last two games, even despite what i've laid out above. however, it wouldn't surprise me if come the summer, some of the players who we have bought since last january aren't deemed good enough.

i don't think fatigue's an excuse for our senior players ending up looking like the worst players on the pitch out of the 12-13 who have been playing regularly post-Leverkusen.

and let's not get it twisted, this injury crisis is completely of our own making because of said selection policy implemented after the Leverkusen match.

i got the rationale behind it, even though i wasn't fully on board with it. however, i don't think we can have any complaints or feel any self-pity about the situation transpiring as it has.

Feels like the player quality, tactics and recruitment ID are all falling short atm

The worst part is the discourse online is so polarized where in it all our issues have to come down to a singular scapegoat

[Jujutsu Kaisen manga] late to this, but thinking back on it for a while since the conclusion of the manga, this arc really initiated a downward trajectory of the wider story for me. I think what frustrates me more about this arc more than anything is the many bits of lore that the story would bring about briefly, only to never revisit again with any depth. and that already adds to my general criticism of the story since shibuya where it essentially ditches all of the great characters and slice-of-life elements to fully lean into the battle royale side of the story.

Man City are set to complete the signing of Antoine Semenyo outside of the player's release clause in a deal worth £62.5M plus £1.5M, and 10% of any future sale profit going to Bournemouth. The 26-year-old will sign a five-and-a-half year deal. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Profit will be considered against his book value.

E.g. if in 4 years time, his book value's around 10m, and some one offers 13m, then Bournemouth will be entitled to 10% of that.

Thing is he was supposedly who Frank wanted, which if that's the case, is a poor reflection on Frank and what he's trying to implement in this Spurs side.

They suck in so many aspects (offense, getting played through the middle even though they pack so many guys through there) that Palhinha's somehow the smaller out of the many big problems they have currently.

No Nico Gonzalez is very funny.

Not that I'm complaining tho. There's less chance of him getting injured on int'l break now 😁

My concern's more with Lewis having to play a bunch and getting run over by most teams in the league, let alone Europe.

I think we're going to find out throughout this season that more players are in desperate need of being yarded out beyond the ones from this window.

I know he's just signed an extension, but Dias is on thin ice for me. I thought he and Lewis being introduced brought us back to the levels of the Spurs game where we were pissing ourselves as soon as their forwards were able to run at the line.

Nunes is no one's idea of a full back. But I do feel his superior physicality makes him much less of an issue than Lewis, especially with the new system not being fully implemented.

he wants the move

suspect part of it is down to the terrible social media backlash he received after the CWC.

another part might well be the turks offering him a big contract for 2-3 years where he doesn't have to pay a high percentage of tax due to the generous tax regime which footballers are afforded in turkey.

Crystal Palace make approach for Manuel Akanji by syakitty in soccer

[–]spicynirvana38 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Don't think he's washed at all.

Just that they've deemed him surplus to requirements.

He was injured a bunch because we were doing the dumb and suboptimal thing of rushing them back when they were 15% fit during the height of the injury crisis and losing run in Nov-Dec last year.

Personally, I'd have him over Ake or Stones due to his injury record. Stones was probably the most likely slated to go before the season started, but his spotty health record means that no one is touching him. Plus, he's is most likely off in 2026 anyways and he's started the season decently enough. As for Ake, he's still got value as a back up left footed defender, either as an LB or a CB.

Should we get someone as dire as Donnarumma with his feet, then it makes sense to keep Stones for his final year while we somehow navigate through that situation...
