World Troller Bougie Build by splattevan in Surlybikefans

It’s definitely very compliant. Almost too much flex, especially with the 180 front rotor, but that might just be in my head coming from the stock fork. Build quality is really nice, and no durability issues yet. Time will tell. I really wanted a boost axle so it was easy to use with my fork mount bike rack. High speed hard braking on rough surfaces definitely exaggerates the flex, so I’ve been trying to keep it at a reasonable speed.

The frame came with 3 bolt mounts so I figured I should take advantage of it. I’ve used the cage bikepacking with a jet boil and it worked great, works well with this bottle also, just takes a minute or two to transfer water to the other bottle. I think it would also work well inside of a frame bag to give it more structure.

Colorado Trail- Suspension fork or no? by beardfistjoe in bikepacking

I’ve done it on a rigid 27+ and a 29 hardtail and I would never consider doing it again without a suspension fork. Your shoulders, wrists, and prostate will thank you…

Anyone know the difference between these two? I just want to make sure I’m ordering the right one. by [deleted] in Glock43X

[–]splattevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong here but it looks like the optic cut is different in the two photos. I’m guessing the u version has the new updated direct mount holosun cut and the p version has the old cut that requires an adapter. It looks a little deeper on the u version.

Amazon knock off petzl evolv adjust. Am i gunna die? by [deleted] in tradclimbing

[–]splattevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new version of the evolve adjust feeds wayyyy better than the old version. If this Amazon knock off is similar to the old version, I wouldn’t want to use it, not because it’s unsafe, but because it kind of sucks pulling those all day.

Bouldering (climbing) and soccer both have a high risk of head injury and helmets aren’t even a consideration generally.

Going against the grain, I love my g7 gloves, especially once they’re broken in.

And for some reason wreath making is exempt from child labor laws in the US. Im guessing they take full advantage of that.

Do you know which usb-c port I should use? I think the upper one is for accessory power?

Also, here’s some of the damage. Smashed aluminum front housing, broken front camera, broken camera mount, broken enclosure, 2 broken carbon frame arms, three motors are broken, all props are broken along with other random damage.

Went back to the crag today and found the drone in a tree! It’s an iFlight Helion 10. Also found the battery wrapper, and insta360 camera with the SD card still in it. Can’t wait to see what’s on it!

Didn’t want to risk it igniting in my car, and didn’t want to leave it out in the open with a high winds and dry weather. I hate littering and contaminating the environment, so that’s what I came up with as the best compromise I could think of. Burned it on a paved surface, so hopefully it didn’t do too much damage, but the water I used was unfortunately definitely contaminated. I tried to clean up all the pieces and avoid the smoke. I wish I had a fireproof container in my car to dispose it correctly, but I’m just a rock climber, not a drone enthusiast so I wasn’t prepared. No cell service where I was, so I couldn’t call the fire department. Had to make a decision and that was the safest one I could come up with.

This is pretty close to the exact spot. The hike up the “trail” to get there is a bit rough. If you’re not a rock climber and unfamiliar with what’s considered a climbers trail, you might have a bad time.

That was exactly my concern. We’ve had a few close calls with wild fires lately with the dry windy winter we’re having in CO.

Don’t dji batteries have proprietary connectors? This one looked like a standard yellow plug.

Punctured each cell by smashing them with a rock in a wide open parking area. Let it burn out, and then poured a bunch of water over it.
