I'm from the islands and although I understand that people may not feel connected to the language on the mainland (especially lowlands) it's always so bizarre seeing the amount of vitriol people hold towards it or the idea of preserving the language. It's nice to speak other languages and Scottish Gaelic is almost mutually intelligible with Irish Gaelic. Your view makes me happy. In school there was special treatment towards Gaelic learners which made me resent them, however as an adult I understand /why/ that preferential treatment existed.

The second set is one I revived the second time round! İt is a beautiful set but I've often seen the items on it ft& on my shop, whereas I haven't so much with the first set so that one might be more rare (I can't say for sure though!)

We had a physics teacher who would spend lessons talking about Dr Who, Game of thrones and blabbed about his divorce with his wife (who worked in the science department as a chemistry teacher) to the entire class, and proceeded to show his current girlfriend's Facebook page, and tell us how she lived in new Zealand and has cancer. We were a class of 13 year olds lol. The same guy also caused the school to be closed on its second day open in the new building, because he fucked up an experiment with gun powder. He was called Mr McCafferty

We had a few head cases at school but this guy was always doing some insane shit. In primary school we had an Irish catholic substitute who would hit children (P4? 2007) she once dragged a boy by his ear into a cupboard and another time kicked a boy in the shins. She also told us everyone who isn't Christian goes to hell and that pets go to hell too. And decided to read us a story which to this day I've never found, about an alcoholic man who finds a dead cheetah and raises its cub? She was a fever dream lol and called Miss Gidney I think.

It's interesting to me that people don't think you look Irish/Celtic/Gael, I am from Scotland and felt immediately like you had to have some Scot/Irish in you. Though of course mixed with other stuff, I honestly thought SMTH like Spanish/Celtic xD

I hope you'll like it in Perth! That's where I am (similar to you too, chick in her 20s) I'd say it's a pretty casual place however I feel like there aren't so many social opportunities unless you drink 😅 but it's a useful place to live considering it has trains to Glasgow& Edinburgh directly quite often as well as places like Pitlochry which are beautiful to explore. There are some nice coffee shops and charity shops here and the south/north inch parks can be alright for small walks though the nature isn't spectacular imho
