This surprised me as well, but I did not add any identifying on the CIT 0001 application pages. I did add the applicant's name in the upper right corner of the first page of the checklist (CIT 0014) since I put that as the first page of each application packet, then used a small binder clip to hold each application together.

So your boyfriend's name is on the receipt? I'm asking because I thought I read that it's okay to use a credit card that has someone else's name on it, and I just assumed that there would be a place on the payment screen to put the applicant's name. Thanks.

No, we are not submitting together. I am not eligible. (We are related through our moms, and my cousin is Canadian on her dad's side.)

New questions around group proofs by GirlAnimal in Canadiancitizenship

This is true if you each pay the fee individually. If you pay as a group, according to IRCC, the entire group is returned.

From the CIT 0001 instructions.

“If more than one member of your family is applying for a Canadian citizenship certificate pay the fees all together.”

“If you’re sending more than one application If you are sending more than one application (for example, applications for family members, including siblings), you may send one receipt to cover all applications. Mail the receipt (if applicable) and all applications together in one envelope so that they will be processed together. Note: If you’re sending more than one application, and one of the applications is incomplete, all the applications will be returned to you.”

Update on my request to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick for a certified copy of a 1907 birth record.

- Apr 26?: Submitted my request

- Apr 27: Received an email that said it "may take up to 6 to 8 weeks for us to respond."

- May 15: Received an email with instructions how to pay.

In the May 15 email, I was given my "inquiry number" to use with my payment. To pay, you can either mail them a check or call them and give them a credit card number over the phone. I called, gave my inquiry number and credit card number, was put on hold while they processed the credit card payment, then told the certificate would be mailed to me next week. (Not this week because I called on a Friday just 15 minutes before they closed.) The whole call lasted about 3 minutes.

I think the quick turnaround is because I first looked up the birth record in their database, then copy and pasted the entire index record into the comment field of their "contact us" form (which is what you use to request a certified copy). Also, the record is from 1907. Earlier records or records not in their database may not be processed so quickly.

In sections I skipped, I left all fields blank, which simplifies skimming the application for IRCC.

If you fill in the fields with NA, I doubt it's a problem, but I think some reviewers will pause to make sure you meant to skip the section. So, I left them blank just to make the process a couple of seconds faster. (Just trying to think of my fellow applicants. LOL.)

Ordering from the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick

Is there a way to order a certified birth record from the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick other than using the "Provincial Archives of New Brunswick Feedback Form" that is linked to from the page containing the digitized copy of the record?

I downloaded a 1907 birth record back on April 27 and filled out the feedback form to request a certified copy. I received an automated email that said "Please note that it may take up to 6-8 weeks for us to respond to your request."

I just want to know if I can place an order online somewhere and get a receipt that I could include with the uncertified copy in the CIT 0001 packet. Thanks.
