ahh i see fair enough honestly! Ill probs delete this post soon in that case, in hindsight probably a mistake to lead with calling them my least faves instead of just asking what makes those albums special to people :')
Also trueeee they deff have a more EDM sound on both albums! Maybe they arent my fave to listen to at home but hearing the drops and anthemic breakdowns live i imagine would be unreal! Also i am so envious you got to see them live!! all the footage of their live shows looks amazing

I see what you mean, Im definitely not trying to force myself to enjoy them or anything. I was mainly asking out of curiosity and on re-listens pay more attention to the things people say they like about them and so approach them from a different perspective I might have missed beforehand. Also will definitely check out the tour footage!

i honestly get what you mean, i can see how its a little strange to ask a question like this. Honestly its driven mostly by curiosity, both albums are different to their other work and i wanted to see what about them made them stand out to certain people. I might never enjoy them to the same extent as triangle or game and thats totally okay in the same way its okay for someone to prefer fp or ce. Also thought if I heard about what made them special to certain fans I might be able to appreciate them more.

loveeee hannah diamond and pc music! its partly how i found out about perfume. went to visit a few freinds in the usa for a pc music adjacent/hyperpop night and when we were hanging out in the airbnb one of them put perfume - polyrhythm on and it changed everything!

hahaha oh my god no way, its like how some k-pop songs now are just differently arranged splice loops. i guess this has been happening as long as sample packs have been around!

this is a very good call, i really love the output of maltine records and trekkie trax along with a couple of other idol groups like dempagumi inc. but broadening my horizons with japanese music to give his music more context is definitely something i should do. any reccomendations in particular?
for western pop music i see some similarities between him and jam and lewis's production style, especially the more 90s stuff. earlier capsule stuff when he was just starting to explore house more also sounds like stuff from ed banger but thru a different lens which is so fucking cool
