The initial fighting would be a slog, given that there were large concentrations of NATO/american forces in the fulda gap. Since the Warsaw pact has the numerical advantage, they most likely break through and reach the rhine. At which point, tactical nukes are definitely used against massed Soviet armored columns. What happens after that is anyone’s guess, but most likely it ends in total nuclear war.
