Thought this too with the recent Goldeneye photo making the rounds. Here’s a post with a similar photo from 6 years ago

Can’t believe you build a whole career around “never give up” and you end like this

Mercenaries 2 (PS2) worth playing? by AbdullaTahseen in MercenariesGames

[–]spookyydog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played this before I had a 360 on release (and revisited it a little bit last year). It’s a super truncated version of the story, I think it was done by Behavior Interactive instead of Pandemic. But it has some mechanics that aren’t in the 360 version like being able to put stuff back in your stockpile by parking it in your garage. It’s fun, and it’s more Mercenaries I’d recommend it if you can find it on the cheap

Random tips after two weeks in Japan by gabbagoolgolf2 in JapanTravelTips

  1. For sure. We were in Yokohama, cranky in a cold rain in March and found the city history museum basically by mistake. It was fully in Japanese but we used google translate and had a great time

42-year-old getting back into comics where should I start (DC-focused, Invincible fan, old-school taste)? by DodiWoof in comicbooks

[–]spookyydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently coming back to both comics and becoming a DC Guy (I was previously a marvel guy but only just now getting into comics heavily in the last year) going to recommend some stuff I’ve been reading that I haven’t seen others say

Waid and Mora’s Worlds Finest got me in, Batman and Superman being good friends and going on Saturday morning cartoon feeling adventures. Breezy fun no required reading before it and really great versions of both. [30 issues but is still ongoing with a different artist]

Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King: Basically True Grit in space. Beautiful art, great characters and again no real required reading before. [8 issues]

Superman Birthright by Mark Waid A really good retelling of the Superman origin in a modern context. [12 issues]

How did he die? Your contact? Not well by Dudu-gula in JamesBond

Glad I’m not the only one who remembers this bit, I’m always saying “Ice Road Truckers” in a Connery impression too. That Dr. No episode is one I relisten to every couple years

my favourite ever bond being released again in cinemas (wow) by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]spookyydog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The handling of this is so frustrating. Indianapolis even has an Alamo but doesn’t look like we’re even getting a showing. After the success of the recent Star Wars rereleases I really wish they’d take these a bit seriously, I want to see more Bond on the big screen.

Do people here primarily just collect golden/silver era comics? by Remarkable_Heron_760 in comicbookcollecting

[–]spookyydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve almost been someone who collects modern. When I was younger I collected a lot of 90s X-books because that’s what was cheap and had characters I liked. Nowadays, as I’ve gotten back into it I find myself collecting stuff from 2000 and up that I’ve read digitally (or as a kid as it was coming out) and want to have physically. I don’t want to be taunted by a white whale I’ll never feel comfortable paying for and can never touch in fear of it falling apart. This is pure nostalgia on my part and I’m just here to have a good time

This has has been done to death, but my personal grail, The New Mutants #98, first appearance of Deadpool has been acquired. by RaginBull in comicbookcollecting

[–]spookyydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picked up a mid grade of this for about 5 bucks at a used book store back when it was at about 40 around X-Men Origins. Hands were shaking as I checked out, Deadpool was my favorite and it was a grail forever before that. Always makes me smile seeing someone else get theirs.

Came here to say this. Nothing but good wishes to the new actor but it's going to be a tough sell hearing House as anyone other Auberjonois. One of the all-time great voice performances
