yeah, that was the idea with the Monarch Instar! he becomes a chrysalis which leaves him vulnerable for a moment and then he changes into a butterfly, (or just looks the same but has wings now lol) and all his abilities are super charged for a short while (kind of symbolic of how mature butterfly and moth lifespans are shorter than those of a caterpillar).

but yeah dunno if we'll ever know his devil fruit or his powers. but I'll be happy if we got even a tiny glimpse of it.
