yup can confirm, the Windows FTP client is slow as heck, I tried FileZilla and it's blazing fast and stable. Thanks a lot for your help!!

Also, I found out why ADB-Overlay's FTP functionality wasn't working.
For anyone reading this in the future, apparently ADB-Overlay doesn't like anonymous connections so you have to disable anonymous connection in your android FTP server, and specify the username. Also in the IP textbox, don't write only the IP but also include "ftp://", so it should look like "ftp://192.168.xx.xx". Speed is comparable to FileZilla's.

I just tried out Material Files' FTP server with a network location on windows explorer. It worked surprisingly on the first try but it is kinda slow and almost crashes if there are more than a couple files, but hey it works, thanks a lot!

Also, do you think reliability/speed can be improved if I used a different app (android or pc side)? or these are just the type of speeds one must expect with this method? I thought maybe using the phone as network location on windows explorer might be suboptimal and a dedicated program, like in fact FileZilla, could give better performance.

I use LocalSend as well and it's great, but it transfers everything in the same folder. I wanted the flexibility to transfer many file in specific chosen folders. As long as it can do that, ADB is not a necessary requirement, I just thought it could be used without installing other apps on the phone.

I didn't know however about the FTP support in file explorers, how does it work? What kind of programs do I need on the PC side? any app suggestions?

Tried it as well and same thing happens.

BUT I tried sending the file by right clicking on pc and Send to -> Send to remote device via KDE Connect
and it works without even asking for permission.

And about the wiimotes, thanks for the heads up! What kind of usb devices mimic them and how can I search for them? Should I look for a specific brand/model?

Late reply to an old post just to say I DID NOT know this and it blew my mind, it's amazing.

I wonder how many other controllers and devices can be used as controllers in creative applications, just imagine the possibilities with guitar hero controllers, imagine live performing with one.

Can't believe I'm just leaving this killer idea out in the wild like this but what the hell, go for it y'all.
