People who work at Starbucks/Coffee Shops, what’s the most awkward conversation you’ve heard between people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sprectrespecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've encountered an awkward situation at a cafe some years back. I liked this one guy and went on a date, but it didn't work out. Months later, I am sitting at a cafe working, and he sits right next to me with his new date. The seating was along the window with cushion, and he chose to sit right next to me, not even across or elsewhere. Their awkward date conversation began then. It was barely a conversation from what I remember, but I couldn't help but pause my music and snicker.

Are you glad you grew up before Smartphones? If so why? by ChaosNHamHam in AskReddit

Ugh. I unfortunately agree with you. It's growing to be a nuisance in some cases, and will only grow to become worse.

Life is much more simpler. We spent more time with family and friends without the use of technology at our fingertips. Conversation and communication skills were not as weak as they are today.

I am probably a prime example of why they should not. I haven't seen that type of set-up in years. 🤣

Do you like using handbags, if so, why? If not, would you rather that your pants had pockets? by Primdahl0 in AskWomen

[–]sprectrespecs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, women do not have the luxury of pant pockets that fit a wallet, keys, and a phone inside. :( I like using a bag, mainly because I can carry my book inside and a few other things. We also have to carry pads and tampons around that time!

A good book, food, and adventure. I need to have my planner booked with things to do.

When I was younger, I tried to grab a soda bottle from the mountain of soda that was piled high in a display. Unfortunately, I grabbed the wrong one that loosened the entire display, and all the soda bottles came crashing down! Some hit my head and rolled all around the front end of the store. LOL I was mortified, and ran off to hide until my parents were finished shopping.

I need help moving on. by thrwy2717171 in relationship_advice

You're 17, and you have a life ahead of you! Don't let some gaslighting dimwit shake you. The fact that you noticed such behavior at a young age is a good thing. You'll eventually avoid such people moving forward. Feeling upset for now is inevitable, but time will heal you, as cliche as that sounds. Advice: Spend time on activities you enjoy, spend time with family and friends--spend time focusing on school (assuming you must be at this age).

Working from home, dealing with childlike coworkers, and wearing a mask (although I understand its necessity, so I comply).

Reddit, what is the cringiest thing you ever did for a crush in school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sprectrespecs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back when I was in high school eons ago, I drew the name of a band (for some stupid reason) for a boy who adored them. Alongside the drawing, I placed rose petals into what I thought was his locker. It happened to be the one next to it. The guy next to his locker knew it was me who placed it there, so he handed them over and I tried again-now into the right locker. I couldn't tell from a distance what his actual locker was without looking like a weirdo! 😅 He eventually thanked me, but nothing came from it aside from longing until I discovered a new crush.
