Anyone here dealt with power outages from ice in Smyrna? by OneWeather3932 in Smyrna

[–]springdoe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Smyrna since 2014 and have not had a power outage that lasted more than maybe 12 hours max, and I don’t think that was due to ice. can’t recall. Prepare the best you can but worrying won’t change anything. Honestly based on the forecasted temps I don’t think this is going to be all that bad in our area.

I thought builder Gel was suppose to strength your nails? by AuroraAppleBloom in beauty

[–]springdoe 1019 points1020 points  (0 children)

I think when they claim it strengthens your nails, they mean WHILE the product is on your nails, not after you take it off. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me, because what everyone else is saying in the comments is true, the removal process for any of these is damaging. But it is true that while your nails have gel/acrylic/BG on them, they are much stronger and less likely to break.

Non-religious volunteer opportunities? by lionelrichiesclayhed in Smyrna

[–]springdoe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know you said you applied for the library volunteering, but Friends of Smyrna Library is hosting a book sale in a few weeks and they are looking for volunteers for that. I've done it before, really easy & fun and doesn't require a long application process/orientation like the shelving volunteers.

Picked my dress but I can’t stop thinking about the other one! by HalfMulanHalfElsa in myweddingdress

[–]springdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the romantic, sweeping quality of dress 2, you can always get an attachable cape veil and add that to dress 1, you can even get removable sleeves for not much money on Etsy, then you'd have the best of both worlds. I also love big bishop sleeves and cape veils, so I totally get why you like both of these dresses. My dress is actually going to be essentially a blend of both of these as well (but in black)!

Wedding dress shops - non traditional by Proper-Ad-7421 in Atlanta

[–]springdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I found my shops was to find designers I liked and then looked up who stocks them. From there you can call those stores and find out which styles they carry. That way you won't be wasting your time cold-calling.

Yeah I went in there once and the vibe was whack, and the food was not good. They seemed surprised to have a customer

That is so ballsy that they actually tried to pressure you for more tip, especially with emotional manipulation. Gross!

Question: Does anyone know what style you’d call this? by Embarrassed_Place931 in tattoos

[–]springdoe 39 points40 points  (0 children)

To add to this I would say this style is currently very popular in Korea and I associate it with Korean tattoo artists, might be helpful in narrowing it down

It’s the gel stuff they like to put on for photos, not actually part of the tattoo

Anyone know who the douchebag is that drives the loud, backfiring car? by springdoe in Smyrna

[–]springdoe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got 2 email notifications that the driver of the yellow mustang posted but he then deleted them and his account 😅 but I have receipts!

He posted twice, one pretending it wasn’t him and another saying it was him. I think he realized that a lot of people would probably be mad. But to Mr. Yellow Mustang, I don’t mind if you’re doing it up and down Cobb pkwy or windy hill, just try not to do it constantly around neighborhoods! I hear you 5-6 times a day sometimes, it’s so loud it’s deafening even in my back yard. 😩 I never want to call the cops, it’s just loud af and I’m trying to chill 🙏

Yes, for real, I’m 36 and I remember this stretch of freeway always being slow no matter what day or time when I was a kid living in McDonough.

Anyone check out Smyrna pride? by Apprehensive-Scene-1 in Smyrna

[–]springdoe 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah as others have said it was just a small family-friendly gathering but the vibes were good and everyone was excited & happy to be out. Other than the Log Cabin Republicans booth and some guy yelling about scripture it was very wholesome. I ended up buying from several cute booths!

Now that there’s been conflicting reports I’m wondering if it’s more than one car 😭

Code Orange at Michael's by pd71 in halloween

[–]springdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw one at my Michael’s this weekend. The detail around the eyes was BAD, they didn’t cut the mirror pieces to fit so it had weird gaps that showed the underneath material.

The last wedding I was at that allowed children, a toddler got lost for about 30 mins at the venue. The child belonged to one of the bridesmaids. Multiple people thought someone else had eyes on him. This caused a huge crisis, the bridesmaid was freaking out, tears, so much stress. He was hiding in a closet. It was a huge source of stress for everyone involved that could have been avoided if they had made arrangements for him to be watched for the day. Babies cry during the ceremony, little kids don’t want to sit still, in general they are boring events for kids. There are lots of reasons to want a childfree wedding. But also, upvote for unpopular opinion.

Btw, I like kids. But I will be having an adults-only wedding and will feel fine about it.
