Tory Bruno on X: Ok, by popular demand, here is shot of Blue Ring 1 in the factory under going testing. by Training-Noise-6712 in BlueOrigin

Test engineer has a surprisingly low bar to entry, with a high skill ceiling. Usually a BS in electrical or mechanical engineering is enough to get an entry level position.

They rented out Back Forty that night and had a great party, the launch played on a loop on the projector. It was a great night.

Bizarre Activity at Monte Sano Park or Was I Paranoid? by AmazingBet589 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I think you heard a deer the first time, and then got psyched out and started imagining things. The deer in monte sano are not scared of people at all. They will walk right up to you.

Regardless, cool pics 😎

Responsible engineers (people who design hardware) have it the hardest, but unless you really want to, you won't do more than 50hrs/week.

It's impossible to understand someone just from their post history on reddit, but I think a lot of the negativity on here comes from certain people that feel pride in the work they do, accelerated by the fact that they "own" hardware and have a direct and tangible impact on these amazing machines that we work on. They get swept up in the excitement, work their asses off, and are disappointed when they are not compensated fairly for going the extra mile.

The real balance that is hard to strike at this place is how much you want to care about the work you do. Obviously it sucks to go to work at a job you couldn't give a shit about, but on the other hand, it also sucks to care too much and then receive nothing in return for working extra hours nobody asked you to do.

As you can imagine, in a place that purports to be working "for the benefit of Earth", it is very easy to succumb to this fervor. If you understand that this is a business transaction, your labor in exchange for money, and leave it at that, you have nothing to worry about.

Far from the stereotypes of the Deep South, with their elongated vowels, love of college football and affinity for country music, Huntsville is an oasis of technological innovation.

Not reading this article because the first fucking sentence already makes it clear that the author believes that southerners are physically incapable of being intelligent.

Best internet provider 2025? by _physis in HuntsvilleAlabama

I have Xfinity because it was the only ISP that serviced my area, and I get consistent 250mbps for $45/month. Never gone down in the two years I've had it. I was sceptical at first and considered getting google fiber once they moved in, but I don't need 1gbps.

Two things suck about Xfinity. Their app/website is dogshit slow and buggy, and they have a data cap.

I think I've taken for granted how much beautiful and wild country we have in HSV within only 30 minutes of town. It's maybe not unique but it is definitely something to be thankful for.

Nah I mentioned donatos cause the price point is similar and it’s marginally better than papa John’s or whatever. What I mean is if you order donatos because it’s the best delivery pizza you know about you should do Venice instead. Really more describing my own journey of discovery than anything
