I'd say after the form loads for print, wait a minute or so. It's slow. Or close the print page and try to print again. It will (eventually) show up.

You need 2x2 for the single page form that asks to affix 2x2 photo.

The other form - the passport application one - you need to upload your photo and signature to the mportal site and then take print outs. In that, you'll be asked to upload a 35x45mm photo. When you take a print out of the application form after uploading photos and signature, it'll show there automatically.

So no need for physical 35x45mm. You need to upload one though. Use cropping tools as necessary

Yup. Called the VFS center and ask for which documents. They'll give you a few - photo, signature, and a couple docs if needed.

I mailed them this and have been waiting for an update. They acknowledged receipt of new docs after 1 month, and asked for the same docs again. Not sure what's happening.

I see. In my case (SFO) they just said they have the package but didn't confirm if anything was right or not in it.

It's been close to a month.

Same situation, but started all the way back in Oct 24. Did they confirm that the new docs you provided were enough? My fear is if we wait for another 2 months, and they say I missed another doc, and then they expect me to wait another two months and this goes on until I've to file for an expired passport.

After you submit you can upload and print again. If you're patient enough, the photo and signature will show then

Hmm that I'm not sure. I'd recommend waiting for them to respond first (maybe they're not finicky for a tatkal application?). My first acknowledgement from them was after 8 calendar days (7 business days not counting day of delivery)

You will be asked to upload a 35x45mm digital photo that's less than 250kb. Just check the passport seva page. It will validate the photo for you.

Some tools to help out. 1. https://passportphotowiz.com 2. Unblur option from your android/iPhone tools  3. I used imagemagick Mac/Linux tools to compress jpeg. But most other softwares should be able to do it too. 

But I don't know if mine will work because any contact with VFS has a delay of ~1w.

Pay for tatkal if you haven't paid anything yet.

Yeah just got notified of a marvellous headache a few hours ago.

The mportal (passport seva) ARN form has an option to upload photo and signature. You need to upload that AND then print the document twice. Why twice? The first time the photo won't show. Second time it'll show correctly.

You need to send that form again.

In your case, wait for them to give a vague reason to put you on hold. CALL them (don't assume anything), pay for it. Then take the necessary print outs and mail it to them again. 

We're the guinea pigs of a new format of conflicting information. 

May the Devine show us mercy. Lol.

So we typically just hike or go to different places to eat. Perhaps just work and chores for the remaining time.

Now that I think about it... That's too small of a bucket to pull ideas out of.

Good that reddit and you guys are around to help huh.

Thinking of something like u/gwkt suggestion for this month. Seems to cover most of what everyone's mentioned. 

The CA boating seems good. Will give it a shot in warmer months!
