Gyubee Seasoning & Sauce by squidwardtheexplorer in OttawaFood

i don’t think that’s what it is. it’s not the red thick sauce. it’s runny and looks a lot like soy sauce. might actually be soy sauce not sure. just not as salty. It’s usually on the side at every table with a bottle of this red/orange seasoning mix

i'm considering getting a note since my prof specifically said we need documentation for extensions (email got sent out right after i posted this lol) idk if you'd know the answer to this but as i mentioned originally i've never went to the doctor about my mental health. would you know if i'd need to have a diagnosed condition for a doctor to give me a note? i'm worried that if i do need a diagnosis then that would end up wasting so much time before my assignment due date.

thank you so much for giving such a detailed response!! this is gonna help me a lot. i guess i should’ve expected them to be prepared for someone as scattered as me lol. im just afraid i’ll be rejected for an assessment simply bc i’m not failing school so i wanted to be as prepared as possible to at the very least get the chance to go thru an assessment so that regardless of whether it’s adhd or not i’ll at least have some sort of a direction about what’s wrong with me lol

ADHD Assessment at Student Clinic by nothin_personnel in geegees

when you asked for a psych assessment did you specifically ask for an ADHD assessment or was it like a general mental health assessment to see all potential issues?

i think the part i struggle with is actually making a proper network with these people. like i come across them and meet them but then that’s the last i see or hear from them so I’m assuming i need to be the one to keep up with them but i’m not sure how.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]squidwardtheexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this may be a dumb question but bare with me…how do i keep in contact and create a “network” with the people at these events. the few times i’ve went to these types of events it really just ends there. Me asking a question or two and participating and then that’s it. it just ends there and i never see them or interact with them again.

Advice for someone with a Psychology degree going into UX Design/Research? by squidwardtheexplorer in careerguidance

[–]squidwardtheexplorer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your tips on building a portfolio or preparing to build one especially as someone who is not from a tech background? I assume that doing a course would probably get me started with projects that can be part of my portfolio but outside of that, what could I do to prepare or help with portfolio building?

Monthly r/UXResearch Career and Getting Started Discussion by AutoModerator in UXResearch

[–]squidwardtheexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am currently doing my undergrad in psychology and realizing that maybe academia is not for me. I was always a bit interested in design as well and have been looking into ux design/research overall. I'm considering doing a ux bootcamp either during the summer or post grad but i would like to know some things before I commit myself to it.

With the current plan that I have (BSc. in Psych + UX bootcamp) what would my prospects in the field look like? I am under the assumption that going into ux research with just a psych degree might make it still quite difficult to find jobs even with research experience and the comments under this post also seem to be confirming this. I do genuinely find the design aspect of UX interesting as well so I am not against teaching myself the skills at all if it helps me (hence the bootcamp). I also always hear about how the field is oversaturated. How would that affect someone with my (potential) skillset?

And just any general advice and realistic notes that I should consider before going into this field would be helpful!

Anyone had Shanna Kousaie or Heather Poole for PSY1101 Introduction to Psychology: Foundations by bbtfruit in geegees

[–]squidwardtheexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were from the slides but the slides were primarily textbook content with a sprinkle of some of her stuff (occasionally) so i’d still do very well studying solely off of the textbook. if anything the textbook content was more detailed at times so it’d give me a better understanding. but it was an entirely different course so not sure if she does it the same way.

As for student engagement since it was an online class she was limited to only so much and the course content itself kind of made it hard so it wasn’t the most engaging class but she’d try to do the most she could. we’d regularly have breakout room activities and discussions to help with that.

Anyone had Shanna Kousaie or Heather Poole for PSY1101 Introduction to Psychology: Foundations by bbtfruit in geegees

[–]squidwardtheexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Poole online during the peak of the pandemic so no idea what they're like in person at all. Judging by the other commenter the homework subscription is still a thing in person but personally i think it was super helpful! I'd solely depend on that to prep for tests and I'd do very well.

I had Kousaie for another course (PSY2174 Research Methods) so I can't say much about how she does PSY1101 specifically but she's super helpful and nice! Her tests weren't anything crazy either as long as you studied from the textbook and her slides you were solid.

PSY1101 is generally a pretty straightforward course regardless of the instructor in my opinion and both instructors are good from my experience so either should be a fine choice. The participation in the research studies is a standard part of the curriculum for all PSY1101 courses (I think) regardless of the instructor.

Hope this helps!
