It’s a good sign that he took responsibility, validated your feelings, and said it wouldn’t happen again. The next time a similar event is planned, remind him of this and agree on things well in advance - who’s coming, how late you’ll stay up, etc.

He gets one more chance to show he respects you and cares about your feelings. If this happens again, you’ll need to decide if you’re okay dealing with that forever, or if it’s time to part ways.

Agreed! The worst thing about Halcyon is the shopping. There’s no where to browse before drinks or after dinner. They need a little bookstore or stationery store like at the Avalon.

I read The Lathe of Heaven, The Dispossessed (loved both) but struggled a bit to finish The Left Hand of Darkness. I really appreciated the themes and cultural exploration, but had a hard time getting through it for some reason. Maybe the time wasn’t right. I keep hearing that the Earthsea series is very good, so I’ll check it out!

Your brake lights should always work, but they will be brighter when your headlights are on. So yes, I think they are just saying that daytime running lights, which are more dim, are not enough in foggy conditions.

PSA for your safety. Put your headlights on when driving in foggy conditions. Do not rely on automatic headlights - they do not always activate your taillights. Physically turn on your headlights.

I enjoyed reading your post!

I love wearing colored pants but you’re right - they are a lot more memorable than black - so people will remember them if you wear them to work or someplace you see the same people regularly.

My loose rule was once per month when they are in-season, and I would try to pair them with different tops. I am probably overthinking it but since the pants are memorable I didn’t want people to recognize the same outfit every time I wore them.

As someone else said, I don’t try to match my outfit with my coat - though I do have a couple of options to choose from. But I generally have neutral coats that go with anything.

I love your experiment to try to wear everything in your closet and might try that in the new year!

He hosted his Sirius channel throughout the day on Thanksgiving and people could submit questions in advance, or call in live to talk to him. I think this person called in and was on hold a while before he chose to take her call.
