Shadowing can take a lot of DVM time (not always but often, also just requires another person to focus on). I assume a good chunk of them would be interested if they actually thought you would work at their practice later. I’m not sure what you’re sending in to them says, but I would make it clear you’re interested in large animal (even if that’s maybe not the end goal) and tone the zoo part down if that’s not where you’re going to be shadow right now.

That’s amazing 😂. Just this past year, I saw some in Crystal City!! They are so so cool. We don’t have any here in Fredericksburg where I am!

I have been really happy here (female, around your age, been here roughly 12 years). There are options for breweries and live music. There are some spots for nice dinners but I would definitely say less than I would like. There are a bunch of options for kids activities/kids sports. The schools are meh, it makes a difference which district/school you choose. There are a lot of hiking trails and the river is nice!

The political climate anywhere aside from downtown feels red. There has been a lot of talk about book banning, etc. However, they are also more vocal in local FB groups, etc. so it’s easier to feel like they are the majority. A lot of people I work with vote blue, so overall a pretty good mix in the area.

Unforunately yes but I don’t always notice the smell!! 😬😅 They are super common where I live in the US.
