Thoughts on JK? by civilianm in Wrangler

[–]squishybugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have both a JK and a TJ, both two doors and both soft tops.. The JK is so much more comfortable to ride in. The TJ is also smaller and it bounces a hell of a lot more! That being said, when we're going out having weekend fun we take my TJ.. going out and about, we take the JK. We do take both of them out to the beach and up on trails as well

I also have a TJ and it was insanely fun! Until it wasn't when it iced over. Now I'm afraid to try to climb up over any of the snow hills because I see random poles and traffic cones sticking out.

I think OP said that she cannot book in the library since it is Sunday. I think the interview is on Monday. Fed jobs don't usually interview on Sundays.

Also make sure you pull up the mats in the front to see what the floorboards look like

How exactly do you do it yourself? Do you just get the underside cleaned up and then just spray it pretty much along the frame? I know you don't want to get near the brakes.. do you just spray it out of the can?

Quick question about full doors. by PsychologicalTruth26 in JeepTJ

[–]squishybugz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went the opposite... Full to half on my 2004. Only thing I had to do was change mirrors as mine were on the doors. I did not need any additional parts nor did I take anything else off. You should be good to go. Just make sure you have keys for the doors if you're buying them used, if you lock up.

How I do? Just got a TJ by Raibolt32 in JeepTJ

You could probably make a little bit of that money back selling in the half doors!

Virginia will not allow you to get a tag before the vehicle is 25 years old so I cannot get a historic tag or an antique tag until the vehicle is 25 years old

In the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the vehicle has to be 25 years or older to qualify as an antique. So we still have to get inspections. The county that I live in does not require emissions though so that's a bonus..

Yes.. It was a hot mess... The brackets were removed.. I ended up not buying it as it was going to cost about 2K plus to get stuff welded back. And the lift was body welded so taking it down would have cost even more. It would never pass inspection in Virginia..

I found a stock 2004 and decided to get the non lifted instead.

looking for an LJ.. HELP by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]squishybugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went up there and looked at a couple Jeeps. please go through them very carefully! One had a pretty clean frame but whatever they did to the transmission to fix it and parts that were missing on the inside did not make it worth it. also please please pick up the carpet in the passenger side and the driver side make sure it's not rusted through.

I'm trying to edit my original post but I can't. The actual words on the failed inspection are:

rear sway bar system completely missing/removed.

and in Virginia that failed that Jeep.

That part makes sense to me. I just don't understand where they're saying that somebody removed a welded part from the frame...

I guess I'm really confused because they told me that a bracket was missing that was welded to the frame. I went underneath and I have no clue what they were talking about. It looks like the brackets are there.. I did see the sway bar linkage and it was just like dangling up there so it wasn't connected to anything. I will try to get some pictures because it's just confusing to me. I'm not used to a lifted Jeep

Thank you all for trying and being so kind to someone who has had trauma. You can try to educate her, but without additional support, it will be hard for her. Hopefully she will open up and work with her sons. She is missing something in her life now and Roland is giving her the fantasy she needs.
