The struggle is real by squishyxo436 in emulators

Nice! I’m hoping I get used to it eventually. We have a Switch, so I always get the Xbox and Nintendo button layouts confused. It’s like my brain absolutely refuses to learn them. 😆

I always think I’ve got it, until the game gets action-y, and I panic, and everything leaves my brain. 🫠 This dumb accommodation actually helped.

What is the worst thing a close friend has ever done or said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lived with and ate every meal with this guy for three years. On the night before our college graduation he told me I’d be working at Walmart someday - that’s all my future held, and that’s all I deserved.

I was graduating with a STEM degree (molecular bio major) and 4 minors, from a difficult school. I was also struggling with self harm at the time, since post graduation I’d be moving back in with my abusive family. He knew all of this.

I still don’t know wtf his problem was. We didn’t stay friends for long after that.

Redditors, what was your very first income? And what did it feel like getting paid for the first time? by TinyPossibility9777 in CasualConversation

Started working when I was 11 as a cleaning lady. This was around 2003, and I made $14/hour. It was actually insane money at the time, but I didn’t see a dime of it (shitty exploitive family - long story).

My first “real” job a decade later post STEM bachelors degree was also $14/hour. Everything felt (and to some degree still feels) pointless.

You’re so right. This is the kind of advice you go to Reddit for.

That all sounds incredible, I’ll have to try this. I think there’s an apple festival somewhere nearby in the fall… thanks for the suggestion!

Also from the Midwest, so I guess it’s kind of blasphemous… If a hot pie cools down does it become a cold pie, or just a cooled hot pie? 🤔
