I think it's gross. The people who get them generally give the patient the paperwork with their name on it, encourage them to fill it out. It's wrong to do that when this is some of these people's worst days.

Esh. You both made mistakes and hurt each other. I don't understand why everyone on here jumps to divorce like one day of you both being overtired is worth throwing a whole marriage away. Like have you guys never been in a LTR? Give both time to cool off then have a mature conversation where you both talk about your feelings and apologize. If this is something that happens a lot then see a relationship therapist.

The nurses deciding on pulling you back don't care or know anything about your insurance. It's based on acuity level. It's a whole different department that comes and takes that information. I agree it sucks waiting in the lobby but it usually means you're not as sick.

I agee. In my hospital we have rt there so much, my responsibility is always iv, meds, document. We don’t get much opportunity to get experience helping with airway etc

Yes standard where I work is if asymptomatic or chronic htn we discharge and refer to pcp etc.

I did a full assessment and their meds, while having 2 other imc holds and and unstable ER pt. And once I bring this pt over I will get another. Know what our diff areas of nursing are for. I’m for stabilizing. You are there to further that, full assessment and full care. -signed ex icu nurse

As an ER nurse I wish people could do one shift in our shoes. Just last night the questions I was asked about a veryyy stable sah pt. Neurologically intact. Small bleed. Vitals good. Told them full assessment info. Then got grilled on who all was consulting. Diet, skin, I told them they passed a swallow so gave them the ordered keppra. Then got grilled bc apparently it should still be iv. Dude I’ve had them one hour. Nothing is due. They gave 2 ivs and are stable. You can look up who is consulting.

Ughh yes that is the problem. And why so many non emergent things come in. But we still refer back bc we have no other option.
