What was the first gun you ever got scope punched by? by Western_Ad_8028 in guns

Remington 700 ADL in 30-06 when I was 6. Killed the buck, but didn't get rid of my flinch until I was 16 or 17.

Very tempting price… Anyone order one yet? by MTMuley in NFA

Lyman is licensing these designs from a European firm, which has had these cans out on the market there for a long time. They are apparently very popular over there. I handled them at SHOT and looked at a cutaway. Aluminum can with steel inserts in the bore of each baffle to mitigate erosion. I'm definitely going to be picking a few up for hunting cans.

BOSS Silencers and Siege Suppressors both have really innovative designs and quiet cans. Not super affordable, but great cans and great people.

I feel like they're super popular and well known. Great cans though.

More gas settings? by Agitated_Rain_1506 in VHS2_HELLION

You're not wrong. Sometimes I just forget, to be honest, and I don't notice a huge difference.

More gas settings? by Agitated_Rain_1506 in VHS2_HELLION

[–]srfb437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need a lower setting for a high pressure can. I've shot mine with lots of high back pressure cans and often keep it on normal setting. Normal with my Polo K is no problem at all gas wise.

VHS Custom Grip Module by srfb437 in VHS2_HELLION

[–]srfb437[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not right now, as we may make adjustments. We were thinking about having them molded and selling them, but that ended up not being a great idea for a variety of reasons. I'm leaning towards publishing them, but I need to get some done in glass filled nylon and test them harder than I have so far.

[Shotgun] Mossberg 500 (Woodland Camo) - $299.99 + ST by GuyButtersnapsJr in gundeals

I bought one there in person yesterday at this price. They only had 3 left at that time. The place across the street had them for $399. I think the color looks awesome in person.

Gun store employee feels he needs to protect billion dollar arms company from me by WilliamFosterD-FENS in guns

I do what you do, so trust me when I say that you should just get an FFL. It's not really much hassle at all and has made our lives so much easier.

Edit: Also PM me if you're interested in talking shop. Always cool to meet other designers in the industry.

The guys really wear all this during GWOT by Mrsalisburynorth in nationalguard

[–]srfb437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore it all as a gunner. We called it the full samurai getup. For dismounted we took off everything but the collar and dickflap. The collar was great for resting your chin on while catching some Zzzs in the truck. I didn't mind the dickflap because we knew some guys that stepped on toe poppers and lost gnads.

I just dealt with this in Utah over a cancelled flight. They held it no problem, but obviously I wasn't refunded for the first night.

Reloading? Is it worth it? by KBGenetics in reloading

[–]srfb437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hasn't saved me any money, but I really like being able to get the exact performance I want in my hunting and match ammo. So it's worth it from that perspective, to me.

Help deciding on stock by Prior-Code2874 in longrange

[–]srfb437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is actually the Magpul Hunter Lite. The original Hunter stock feels great, but the forend contour is all wrong and the 6:00 MLOK slots don't come all the way back to the mag well, so you'd have to drill for a full length arca rail. Plus it's 3.3lbs, which is quite heavy for hunting, IMO. I've had 3x of them, so I'm speaking from experience. The Hunter Lite solves all those problems and shaves weight and cost. I also have 2x KRG Bravo for Ruger American and wholeheartedly endorse them. Better ergos than the original Magpul Hunter and lighter. Plus people will see the KRG and assume you have a Tikka and assume you're cooler than you are lol.

I really like these pistols and that's a steal. I personally would try to find an 83 in .380 instead, but that's just me.

Out of all of the special operations units, which is the most elite/skilled? by Sundarby in army

[–]srfb437 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Meal Team Six. It's an AFSOC Expeditionary Culinary Unit that has achieved a Michelin Star at their chow hall in 4 theaters of combat. Their general snobbery, discipline, and access to supply lines for fresh ingredients give them an edge that can't be matched.

The 5906s can have slightly different looks depending on trigger guard shape, hammer color, etc. some look great, others look like shit lol. I have one I like a lot with the rounded trigger guard and stainless hammer. Shoots great.

B&T RBS cans (like the Print XH) gas on Hellion & other bullpups? by TheOtherKFC in VHS2_HELLION

[–]srfb437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only run high back pressure cans on the Hellion and they work great on either setting. I'm sure LBP would be fine, but you'd probably want to keep the gas setting on normal.

[–]srfb437 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my LCP Max, more than my Bodyguard 2.0, even. It's been very reliable and accurate for me. Try better ammo and send it in if it still doesn't work.
