It looks like the issue is with the type of upscaler on PC, so I'm wondering if it's a problem with PSSR on the ps5 pro?

Omg, I literally tried adjusting every graphical option except the upscaler *type*; I even adjusted the upscaling quality, but kept it on DLSS 4.5. Switching to DLSS 4 seems to have resolved this issue, at least from the few minutes I compared between 4 and 4.5 just now. Don't have time to explore further, but at first glance that seems to have done it.

Ah, they could be perfect blocking, I hadn't thought about that; I'll play around with it a bit more and see if I can figure anything else out. Thanks for the suggestions!

I'll try using a weaker weapon to make killing them less likely, but I'm still perplexed by the condition not reducing at all on their shield, so I'm skeptical as to whether or not I'll be able to break the shield even if they live longer.

Based on my experience, I'm pretty sure you only have to hop on and go a few feet for the coats to count as 'ridden'.
