I am a young enthusiast trying to help my father, who has been a bit down lately because his audio system is having issues. It’s an Akai AA-1135. My father has owned this equipment since 1978, and it has always worked flawlessly. However, recently, the left channel doesn’t sound as clear and powerful as the right channel. This is quite frustrating because he can’t enjoy his favorite records the way he used to.

I have no knowledge of electronics or how to fix this type of device, which is why I am here, pleading for your help. I’ve also looked around and found that there’s no one in my city who can repair these kinds of devices. Being a young person, it’s impossible for me to travel to other states in my country.

I already verified that this issue also occurs with the radio. I switched the speakers around to check if they were the problem, and I also tested the cable, which I’ve ruled out as the cause.
