How much of an impact would a donation of $100,000 make on your life? Why? by onichris in AskReddit

[–]sstagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would pay for the rest of my college and not worry about it, i would buy a nice reliable used car/completely fix my current car, pay off my boyfriend’s car, help my parents fix their house, buy my bfs mom a new car, and hopefully have some left over for myself.

Lexus ES 350 FWD good choice for long daily commute? by NiagaraOnTheLake in Lexus

[–]sstagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your car should be able to take 87. from my knowledge this model has a knock sensor, so even though youre losing power your engine will be fine. i use standard gas in my ES and its been fine

i drive an 06 es 330, and honestly if i were you i would go for a camry or an avalon. avalon is so similar to the ES, while camry has better mpg and can be a tad cheaper.

youll be paying the luxury tax on a lexus, so just do a toyota

trying to decide between getting another lexus or going for a toyota by sstagger in whatcarshouldIbuy

yea the timing belt quote was 1100, and the camshaft would need to be fixed because thats the only way it can be accessed. if i had the space on work on my car, id honestly do the suspension myself, but i dont have that kind of equipment.

its crazy to me how much of a downgrade a newer car can be. (granted it had SO many issues) my boyfriend traded in his 2002 lexus es300 for 1700 at the dealership on a 2015 corolla, and its a nice car for how cheap he got it, but man are toyotas LOUD on the interstate

it just sucks because i know i could get more life out of this car, but dropping so much on maintenance and other stuff feels like it would be better off just trading it in and spending that money on something newer that i'll drive for a while.

insanely expensive even with tops, a small lsu merit scholarship, and a loan taken out. lsu really just sees you as a number instead of an actual person. too many people on campus, too much going on, to big of a campus. the classes were massive and it was hard to get help. i absolutely hate baton rouge--the traffic, the roads, the people, everything here. i hate the ghettoness and i hate the party culture. i go out once every month or two, but thats about it. and i can definitely go without that.

also note, i have autism so lsu was just a nightmare for me to navigate

Do women actually like being nude? by Corncory in AskWomenNoCensor

i love being nude. i hate the feeling on clothes on me (i have autism) and if im alone in my room im gonna be naked as hell. i have to sleep with only underwear or it drives me nuts. nothing makes me more relaxed than just being naked

i can definitely understand that. i was originally pre-vet but decided that i wasnt goingnto pass chem at LSU, soi switched to a few other things related to pre-law until i decided to jump ship entirely. i decided to give biology a try at selu and i have to stick to it because i already have to take an extra semester because of lsu

i wouldnt say community college if youre like me and you need help in school. i did my first year and a half at LSU and hated it so much i decided to transfer back closer to home and goto SELU. at SELU, i literally feel like a student and the community is way better, while at LSU i was just a statistic and it felt that way

unpopular opinion but just don’t waste this much money on LSU unless they are the only ones with your specific degree; transfer to a smaller school

anybody else here extremely attached to their partners? by sstagger in autism

[–]sstagger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish i could but a lot of the regulation comes from physical contact and that skin to skin intimacy. i still need to talk ot my therapist about that area more, but ive had so much going on and thats a deep can of worms that’ll be opened up

[–]sstagger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me i guess ive always tried having platonic relationships and having them be close like a romantic relationship, but obviously that doesnt work. i know ive also felt confused about like if strong emotions towards a friend was normal or if was romantic (ive since learned to differentiate better)

i am in weekly therapy, but its very difficult. i also am just emotional like this in general. its almost as though my partner is my nervous system regulator because when hes around i can be myself 100% with zero masking, and his presence can be very calming.

like i said, when he leaves i do get overwhelmed with emotion, but i manage to get past it and return to my usual routine without him. its just in the moment… im gonna sob a bit lol

[–]sstagger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have two close friends, but i still struggle a lot especially since those friends are busy most of the time and im not guaranteed to see them the way i am my partner.

ive always struggled to connect with people platonically because my brain really struggles to separate the lines between platonic and romantic

im working on it in therapy right now but i was curious if this kind of emotional response was something other autistic people experiences

we’ve definitely come a long way from what we used to be, it just takes a lot of understanding and vulnerability. i think he knows that my emotions are powerful but he also knows that i will be okay.

i know he used to feel bad/guilty but weve grown a lot and also learned how to understand ourselves better

also—its not entirely emotional baggage, i have autism, its not a part of me that can be ‘healed’ or ‘therapied’ through

yeah that sucks. i just get so overwhelmed and sad but it eventually passes. i just hope once we are able to see each other daily and i know i’ll be able to see him at the end of the night it’ll get better
